Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Cotiso Tapae (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and JJ Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of The Island, Cotiso Tapae!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of The Island, JJ Jackson!
The judges for this bout are Michael Johnstone, Winston Alpacca and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tapae tries for a takedown but Jackson sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.

Cotiso Tapae seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Tapae closes the distance and clinches up with Jackson, looking for a takedown. Tapae pushes Jackson against the cage but Jackson circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

Jackson closes the distance, clinches up and gets a nice trip takedown into side control. Very smooth.
Tapae is looking to get back to his feet here but Jackson is keeping cool and he's managed to take Tapae's back.
Tapae tries to escape but Jackson has the hooks in and won't let him break free.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.

Tapae closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Jackson did well to prevent Tapae getting side control.
The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Tapae connects with a nice short shot to Jackson's temple.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Tapae looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.
Tapae wants to take a breather but Jackson is having none of it.
Tapae seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Tapae looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Jackson with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

That was a close second round but I would say that Cotiso Tapae will probably get the nod.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Jackson is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
