The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Powers shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Fields wants to control but Powers is keeping busy and won't allow it.

Fields looking for subs from the bottom but Powers mounts him!
Fields tries to hold on but Powers pushes him away.
Powers trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Fields working to try and regain half guard.
Fields could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Powers lands a big shot there that rocks Fields but he's holding on and managing to survive for now.
Powers scoring with some good ground and pound from mount here. Will he manage to finish Fields?
Fields is flailing around like a fish out of water, trying to land strikes.
Powers controlling his opponent.

Fields tries to hold on but Powers pushes him away.
Fields is in a bad position, trying to hold on for dear life but he is really struggling to maintain any sort of control.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Powers cracks Fields with a nasty head shot there - the crowd let out an audible gasp there, as the noise reverberated around the arena.
Fields wants to control but Powers is having none of it.

Powers has control of Fields's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Fields regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Powers can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Fields is looking to escape.
Powers has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
