Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Mylly Nyrkki (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Sam Sader (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). I don't know about you partner, but I'm pumped for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Mylly Nyrkki!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Sader!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Alan Glass and Wesley Smith.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sader tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nyrkki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Sader drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Nyrkki pushes Sader off for just long enough to get back to his feet. Very athletic spring there.

Sader scores with a takedown into Nyrkki's guard.
Nyrkki throwing strikes off his back to little effect.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Sader content to stall in guard here.
Nyrkki wants to stand but Sader is controlling the position.

Neither fighter is doing enough for the referee's liking and he's decided to stand them back up.

Sader closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming Nyrkki to the mat! Nyrkki manages to get full guard.

Nyrkki wants to control the position but Sader says "no thanks buddy" and passes to half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Sader is looking to take a break and control but Nyrkki is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
Nyrkki is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Sader tries to pass to full mount but Nyrkki defends it.
Nyrkki preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Nyrkki lands a nice leg kick that just misses Sader's sensitive parts.

Nyrkki throws a nice looking combination but Sader bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Nyrkki throws a leg kick which misses Sader's front leg but catches the back leg as Sader tries to avoid it.
Sam Sader seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Nyrkki throws a right and a left that both miss.
Nyrkki looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Nyrkki throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Nyrkki throws a series of punches but Sader moves out of range.

Nyrkki gets caught flat footed, as Sader shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
Nyrkki has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Sader wants to control from the top but Nyrkki keeps moving.

Nyrkki bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Sader's guard.

Sader looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Nyrkki looking to control the position here, rather than advance.

Nyrkki gets to his feet - Sader follows without any prompting.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close round but I would say that Mylly Nyrkki will probably get the nod.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


Sader walks into a straight right hand from Nyrkki.
Ouch! a nice leg kick from Nyrkki, right into the meat.
Sader tries to close the distance and clinch up but Nyrkki swats him away and circles back towards the center.

Nyrkki drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Nyrkki has decided he wants to stand but the closed guard of Sader is proving hard to escape from.

Nyrkki gets to his feet - Sader follows without any prompting.

Sader shoots in and bounces Nyrkki off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.

Nyrkki kicks Sader off and gets to his feet.
Nyrkki throws a lazy right hand but Sader sees it coming a mile off and sidesteps it easily.

and Nyrkki counters with a nice leg kick.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.

Nyrkki shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Oh and he's advanced to full mount straight away.

Nyrkki fakes a shot to the body and cracks his opponent in the head. Nice ground and pound there!

Sader tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Nyrkki takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.
Sader is wriggling around trying to escape.

Sader takes a big shot to the head but keeps on trying to improve his position.
Nyrkki trying to control but Sader is having none of it.
Nyrkki is landing with some decent strikes but Sader is trying to advance his position so the referee is letting the fight continue.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Sader tries to hold on but Nyrkki pushes him away.
Nyrkki controlling the pace for now.
Sader wants to control but Nyrkki is having none of it.
The crowd growing excited in anticipation of a finish here! Right on cue, Nyrkki cracks his opponent with a massive right hand that draws loud cheers!
Nyrkki tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Mylly Nyrkki dominated that second round.
That's time! Nyrkki's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.


Some wild striking there from Nyrkki.
Sader darts in trying to clinch
and Nyrkki counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
Nyrkki circles away from the clinch attempt
and Nyrkki counters with a nice low kick that buckles Sader's knee momentarily.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Sader trying to control but he's not successful this time.
Sader takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Nyrkki is looking to improve his position but Sader isn't that keen on the idea.

Nyrkki manages to regain half guard. Good work.
Nyrkki slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Nyrkki manages to escape and get back to his feet.
Nyrkki looking to take his opponent's legs away with the low kicks.

Sader rushes Nyrkki and presses him up against the cage.

Nyrkki controls the pace of the fight for a moment.

Sader is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Nyrkki gets control of Sader's arms and successfully pulls guard. Nyrkki will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Mylly Nyrkki overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Nyrkki manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Sader manages to get himself to full guard.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Sader pulls Nyrkki in to control the position.
Nyrkki seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.
Nyrkki has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

Mylly Nyrkki showed his dominance in that final round.
Well I reckon that's a shut out for Nyrkki, winning every round. Will the judges agree? They are the ones who matter, even if they are often depressingly incompetent. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
