Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Nick Alvarez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcelo Dobzinski (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Dobzinski is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Waters Of Nazareth - Justice. The fight MMA fans around the world have waited their entire lives for!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 4 rounds, for the welterweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 1, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Nick Alvarez!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 12 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Marcelo Dobzinski!
The judges for this bout are Leandro Rodrigues, Paulo Santos and Luis Engracia.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alvarez clinches up against the cage.

Alvarez pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Alvarez thuds a left hand into Dobzinski's body.

Alvarez throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Dobzinski was covering up waiting for the punch and Alvarez finishes the takedown easily into guard.
Dobzinski wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Alvarez manages to pass to side control.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dobzinski kicks Alvarez off and gets back to his feet.

Alvarez closes the distance and scores a nice trip takedown into half guard. Dobzinski did well to prevent Alvarez getting side control.
Dobzinski wants to get back to his feet.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Alvarez wants to pass the guard but Dobzinski is defending well.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.

Alvarez takes a deep breath and rests his weight momentarily on top of his opponent, to control the position.
Alvarez is looking for the mount but instead finds himself back in full guard.

Alvarez thinks about going for a leg but decides against it, in order to maintain the position.
Alvarez has improved his flexibility recently so we will have to see if he can use that to his advantage.
Alvarez throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Dobzinski works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Alvarez gets a double leg takedown into Dobzinski's guard.

Dobzinski is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.

Alvarez is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Dobzinski's shoulder. That is not cool.

Alvarez ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alvarez no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Alvarez shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Alvarez was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
