The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Bennett closes the distance and clinches up, looking for a takedown. He shifts his weight and gets a nice trip into half guard.

Bennett is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Morton defends it well.

Morton is looking to sinch up a gullotine here but Bennett pulls his head out easily.

Morton has his foot on Bennett's thigh. He's trying to push off and get in position for a triangle, I think. Bennett works his way back into a safe position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Morton can't keep his opponent in guard - Bennett advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.

Bennett is stalling here. Morton is in no mood to hang around though. He's locked up a kimura from the bottom! Bennett seems to be keeping calm but he's forced to roll out of the hold and Morton has ended up in side control on the top. Nice work.

No joy there for Morton, who threw a few shots but didn't land.
A jab-cross combination lands for Morton and sends Bennett crashing to the mat! Morton follows him down to the mat - Bennett regains half guard but he's not out of trouble yet!

Bennett is staying active underneath Morton, who seems content to just control the action from this position.

Bennett has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Morton can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Horrible takedown by Bennett or perhaps it was just good defense by Morton which made him look bad.
