Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Charles DaCoca!
And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Richard Villars!
The judges for this bout are Paul Aken, Saam Ante and Nard Betker.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Villars shoots in and gets a takedown into DaCoca's guard.

DaCoca pushes Villars off and scrambles back to his feet.
DaCoca throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
DaCoca throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Villars on the wrong end of a nice low kick. He's acting like it's no big deal but he doesn't want to take many more of those.
DaCoca misses with a left hand
and Villars counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.

A head kick lands from DaCoca that sends Villars to the canvas. Villars tries to scramble back to his feet but DaCoca brings him back down into side control.


It looks like Richard Villars has been cut.
This has been an exciting period of action!
DaCoca trying to control the action but Villars is working from the bottom.
You can see the frustration on Villars's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Villars is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but DaCoca is staying active.
Villars sneaks a leg under to get back to half guard.
DaCoca stalling.
DaCoca wants to lay and pray for a moment but Villars keeps working.
Villars is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.
Villars wants to control but DaCoca is keeping busy.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are starting to boo a lack of action.
Villars tries to roll over but DaCoca keeps him under control.
Villars wants to control but DaCoca is keeping busy and won't allow it.
Villars is looking for a sweep. DaCoca is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.
DaCoca trying to control from half guard but Villars is working away.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.
Villars sizes up DaCoca with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


It looks like Charles DaCoca has been cut.
Villars darts in looking for a takedown but DaCoca gets double underhooks and turns Villars into the cage.
Villars throws a jab when DaCoca was well out of range.
Villars throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
DaCoca feinted there with a counter leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Villars lands a vicious shot with the stealth of a sniper and the strength of a viper. Are vipers that strong? I can think of lots of things that are stronger than a viper - not many rhyme with sniper though.
Villars avoids the body shot from DaCoca.
Villars darts in and out, connecting with a jab.
DaCoca throws a head kick that misses.
Villars swings and misses with a hook to the body.
DaCoca takes a head kick and keeps coming.
DaCoca uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Villars.
DaCoca misses with a kick to the body
and Villars counters with a quick right hand to the jaw.
A decent looking body kick lands there for Villars.
Charles DaCoca is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
DaCoca pivots, looking for a leg kick but Villars is out of range and DaCoca settles back down.
Villars tries to clinch but DaCoca is having none of it.
Richard Villars seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Villars uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from DaCoca.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
DaCoca throws a low kick, looking for Villars's leg but Villars calmly moves out of range.

DaCoca tries to keep at a distance but Villars has taken the fight into the clinch.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
DaCoca working some nice short punches in the clinch.
Villars misses with a shot to the kidneys.
DaCoca tried to land a shot to the body but connects with Villars's elbow.
DaCoca misses with a punch on the inside.
DaCoca misses with the head strike.
DaCoca gets through Villars's defenses to land a nice punch to the side of the head.
Villars misses with the head strike.
DaCoca is working Villars over against the cage.
Villars throws a punch but it's blocked by DaCoca.
Villars misses with a hook from the clinch.
DaCoca goes for a body shot but it's blocked.
DaCoca working on landing some head shots here - that one got through nicely.
Villars blocks a body shot from DaCoca.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Charles DaCoca dominated that round.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
The minute break is over - no more time for sponges and pep talks - back to the action!


Villars looks to throw the jab but DaCoca is out of range.
DaCoca lifts his leg as if looking to counter with a high kick.
Villars tries to grapple but his opponent circles
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Villars tries to clinch up but DaCoca circles away and keeps his distance.
The sound of bone on bone echoes around the arena as Villars checks a leg kick.
Villars is looking to clinch but DaCoca is avoiding it.
DaCoca throws out a powerful jab.
Villars on the receiving end of a decent leg kick there by DaCoca. DaCoca obviously looking to wear him down.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Villars thuds his right hand into DaCoca's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Villars swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
DaCoca throws a leg kick that misses.
DaCoca fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Villars to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Villars looks to clinch but DaCoca throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Villars taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:55 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Strikes). Charles DaCoca!
Charles DaCoca retains his heavyweight title!
