Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Brian Donnelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcos Duarte (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Duarte is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Go 2 Sleep by Ludacris. This should be a great matchup!

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 13 - 6 - 1, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brian Donnelly!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 32 - 20 - 2, fighting out of New York, Marcos Duarte!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Donnelly lands with a shot to the body.

Oooooooooooh, not good. A low kick from Donnelly lands where it shouldn't have, right in the... well, you know what he did? He kicked him in the penis. He's injured, injured bad. The referee sends both fighters to their corners and Duarte has 5 minutes to recover. He's OK now though... a thumbs up from Duarte and we're back underway with a touch of gloves.

It looks like Marcos Duarte has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Donnelly leaves Duarte with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.
Duarte takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Donnelly digs a good body shot into Duarte's ribs.
Duarte takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Duarte throws a looping left and ducks down for a takedown. He's got his arms around Donnelly's waist but Donnelly gets an underhook and avoids the takedown by throwing Duarte off to one side.

Duarte chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Donnelly can pounce on him.

We've been hearing good reports from Donnelly's training camp. Apparently he has been rolling around with some good quality BJJ practitioners and has been sharpening his skills. Let's see if that has an impact on the fight today.
