Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Steve Rogers (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Shane Doby (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Doby comes into a darkened arena with his song building. International Players Anthem kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Rumors backstage are that the fighters have been paid to keep it standing but we know that would never happen in MMA!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 33 - 41 - 0, fighting out of New York, Steve Rogers!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 28 - 26 - 1, fighting out of Montreal, Shane Doby!
The judges for this bout are Igor Prikhodko, Viktor Lagutenko and Illya Tyunina.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Doby slips a jab and a cross from Rogers.
Doby drops down looking to force a counter takedown but Rogers defends it well.

Rogers looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Rogers slips effortlessly into side control - very nice.
Doby is trying to get back to half guard.
Rogers staying calm.
Rogers is looking to take a break and control but Doby is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Rogers working hard here to secure a kimura but he's not really in the right position for it.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
Doby is looking to regain half guard here but Rogers keeps moving and retains side control.
Doby trying to remain calm as Rogers controls from the top position.
Rogers will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
You can see the frustration on Doby's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Rogers is staying tight to Doby's torso, preventing him from escaping.
Doby is looking to regain half guard here but Rogers keeps moving and retains side control.

Rogers tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Rogers has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Rogers wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Doby, who protects the arm well.

Rogers is pausing for a moment. What's he doing? It looks like he's clearing his nose. Oh dude! He's shot a load of snot all down Doby's shoulder. That is not cool.
Doby is looking for a sweep.
Rogers moves into full mount!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Doby is wriggling around trying to escape.
Doby is squirming around, avoiding Rogers's attempts to control the action.
Doby can't escape the position.

Rogers looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Doby is looking to improve his position but Rogers isn't that keen on the idea.
Rogers can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Doby is looking to escape.
Doby is trying desperately to improve position.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Rogers looking to control but Doby is working nicely, looking to advance position himself.
Doby tries to get back to half guard but can't.

Doby throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Rogers has taken the fight to the clinch.

Rogers breaks from the clinch.

Rogers gets a clinch.
Both fighters working to control the clinch.
A quick uppercut on the inside from Doby.
Rogers prevents the takedown attempt.
Doby jumps guard but Rogers stands there with Doby around his waist. Doby gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.
Doby wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.

Rogers escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Doby lands a lovely overhand right.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Rogers throws a right and a left that both miss.
Rogers misses with a wild combination.
Rogers throws a hook to the side of Doby's head but Doby sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Rogers uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Doby.
Doby scores with a hook to the body. Rogers takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Doby moves forwards but Rogers connects with a nice, crisp jab.
Doby tries to clinch up but Rogers circles away and keeps his distance.
Rogers is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Doby can do to turn this around?
Doby shoots for a double leg takedown but Rogers sprawls well. He's pushed Doby's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Steve Rogers has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Shane Doby.
Rogers misses with a jab and misses with a cross straight after too.
Rogers swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.
Rogers lands with a two punch combination before moving back out of range.

Rogers fakes a strike and closes the distance, dragging Doby to the ground. Rogers is now in Doby's guard.

Rogers throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Doby works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.

That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!


Rogers throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Doby throws a hook but Rogers blocks it.

Doby looks to score with a jab to the body but Rogers is just out of range.
Rogers seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.
Doby cracks Rogers with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Rogers is looking to advance position but Doby won't allow it.

Doby has a hand on Rogers's thigh, trying to get back to full guard. Rogers takes advantage of the position though and mounts him!

Rogers prevents Doby from getting the reversal.
Doby wants to control but Rogers is having none of it.
Rogers throwing strikes here but Doby is writhing around nicely and avoiding any serious damage.

Steve Rogers is fighting for a decision here - he's started to take the cautious approach.

Rogers seems to be working for a kimura but Doby defends the submission attempt.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
