Coming up we have a bantamweight MMA rules bout between Bob Carver (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Brayden Barnes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barnes comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Lisztomania kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! Brayden Barnes has the power to score a knockout today if he connects clean with Bob Carver's chin.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the bantamweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Bob Carver!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Brayden Barnes!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Frank Dennis.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Barnes connects with a lovely right hand, straight down the pipe.
Barnes misses the body punch

and Carver counters by moving into the clinch.
Barnes is trying to break the clinch but Carver has him pressed against the cage.
Barnes tries to break the clinch but Carver is controlling the position.
Barnes wants to break free but Carver has control.
Barnes looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Barnes lands a body shot in the clinch.
Carver has hold of a leg and is looking for a trip takedown. Barnes avoids it nicely though and we remain in the clinch.
Barnes has had enough of the clinch but Carver keeps him there for the moment.
Barnes working hard to break the clinch.
Carver keeps control of Barnes as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Barnes prevents the takedown attempt.

Carver jumps into guard, dragging Barnes to the mat.
Carver wants to stand and escape but Barnes is having none of it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Barnes forces his way into half guard.
Carver really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Carver trying to control but Barnes postures up.
Barnes wants to pass the guard but Carver is defending well.
Barnes prevents Carver from improving his position.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Carver is trying to stand.

Barnes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carver is just riding it out for now. Barnes eventually gives up the hold.
Carver is trying to get back to full guard.
Barnes thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Barnes prevents Carver from improving his position.
Carver preventing any damage for now, controlling his opponent's head.
Barnes is keen to just control but Carver is a slippery customer.
Barnes is looking to advance position but Carver won't allow it.
Barnes throwing shots but Carver is blocking nicely.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Carver is staying active underneath Barnes, who seems content to just control the action from this position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Carver is trying to stand.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Barnes trying to control the action but Carver is working from the bottom.
Barnes missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Barnes has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Barnes is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Carver is just riding it out for now. Barnes eventually gives up the hold.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Barnes is trying to control. Carver wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.
Barnes wants to pass to mount but Carver is defending the position.
Barnes trying to control from half guard but Carver is working away.
Carver holds on for dear life, maintaining half guard for now.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Barnes has freed up his trapped foot and advances to mount.
Barnes misses with a series of strikes from mount. He'll no doubt be working on his ground and pound when he gets back to the gym.
Carver is wriggling around trying to escape.
Carver squirming around on the bottom, looking to escape.

Barnes looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.
Carver is desperately trying to improve his position but Barnes has a good base and remains in mount.
Carver really wants to buck Barnes off and get back to his feet.

Barnes has control of Carver's right arm, working for a kimura. It's a bit of a token attempt though and Carver regains control of the situation pretty easily.
Barnes looking to finish with strikes here!

Barnes swings around for an armbar and he's got it! Wow, that came out of nowhere! What a finish!
