The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramirez takes a big uppercut there. He seems a bit wobbly but no, he's OK.
Soares lands a right hook to the body.
Soares swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ramirez.
Donk. Soares catches Ramirez right on the button with a cross.
Soares connects with a body shot.
Soares throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Ramirez with the counter takedown but Soares avoids it easily.
Soares misses with a body shot.

Ramirez gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.

Soares slaps away a takedown attempt from Ramirez, before circling back to the center of the mat.

Ramirez takes one on the chin but keeps coming.

Soares has been talking about how he's improved his wrestling in the run up to the fight so let's see if that's enough to sway the balance.
Soares connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Ramirez momentarily.
Soares scores with a punch to the head.
Ramirez defending well as Soares loads up on a big left hand.
Soares thows a left - swing and a miss!
Ramirez seems to have recovered his senses.

Soares feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Ramirez sprawling to the canvas! Ramirez rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Soares finish him?!

Soares cracks Ramirez with a good shot that sees him stumbling back into the cage.

Ramirez shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Ramirez slips a straight right by Soares.
Ramirez feints the counter takedown.
Soares bobs and weaves and throws out a fast jab that snaps Ramirez's head backwards.
Ramirez has a pretty nasty looking mouse under his right eye.
Soares stuffs the takedown attempt from Ramirez. Ramirez gets slowly back to his feet.

Soares is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.
Ramirez uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Soares.
Soares sends Ramirez crashing to the mat with a devastating uppercut! Soares is motioning to the referee to let Ramirez up. He wants to try and finish this one on the feet!

Soares fakes a right and follows up with a big left that drops Ramirez to one knee - oooooh, he's wobbly! Ramirez looks to clinch but Soares throws him off and pummels him into the canvas! Ramirez taps out under the strikes! The fight is over!
