Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
1 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Thurman Baxter!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Erik Ludvigsen!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Don Winkell and Jack Bonds.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baxter changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Ludvigsen tries to avoid it but Baxter manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Ludvigsen to the ground. Ludvigsen escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Ludvigsen drives through with a takedown into guard.
Baxter pushes Ludvigsen off and scrambles back to his feet.
Baxter takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Ludvigsen throws the overhand right but ducks down into a quick takedown attempt. Baxter was covering up waiting for the punch and Ludvigsen finishes the takedown easily into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Baxter looking to try and escape his hips here, looking for a submission. It looks like he's going for a triangle but Ludvigsen is defending well. Baxter quickly switches to an armbar and extends the arm! Ludvigsen has no choice but to tap, to a very quick submission! Wow, that was lightning fast! Baxter celebrates on the cage, with the crowd.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:45 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). Thurman Baxter!
