Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 5 rounds, for the light heavyweight championship of the world!
Introducing the champion to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the challenger to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Joe Colombu!
The judges for this bout are Columbo Gatti, Joseph Jones and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Nice uppercut there from Turner.

Colombu looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.

Colombu stops Turner from getting back to his feet.

We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.
A slow jab from Turner misses its intended target.
Turner's corner calls for a 1-2. Turner obliges with the 1 part as he scores the single shot and moves back out of range.
Turner catches Colombu with a nice straight right. He seems pissed - ooooh, it's on now! On like donkey kong!
Colombu has tried to improve his agility in the runup to this fight.

Turner on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Turner tries to get out of the position.

Colombu seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Turner does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Colombu is nestled in close to Turner, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Turner is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

Colombu has a closed guard, preventing anything of note from happening. Perhaps he's looking to stall.
Turner is looking to work some ground and pound but Colombu has wrist control.
Colombu manages to sweep nicely, so he's now on top. Turner manages to get himself to full guard.

Colombu lands a couple of decent looking shots.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.

Turner is looking for a guillotine. You can't force these things though and Colombu defends well.

And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close round but Joe Colombu will probably get the nod.
The fighters get back to their feet, the hooter sounds and we're back to the action!


Turner leaves Colombu with his face pressed against the mat as he sprawls beautifully, defending against a solid takedown attempt.

Turner tries to circle away but Colombu has him pinned against the cage.

Colombu lands a hook to the side of the head.


It looks like Malik Turner has been cut.
Colombu is working for a takedown up against the cage. He can't get it on this occasion though.
Colombu throws a blind hook that connects with the side of Turners head.
Turner misses with the head strike.

Colombu escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.
Turner throws a shot to the body.

Oooooh!!! Colombu has knocked Turner down with a huge combo! Colombu steps away and waves a wobbly Turner back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!


Turner is rocked!
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Colombu closes the distance and clinches.
Oh Turner is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!

Colombu drops Turner onto one knee with a big uppercut from the clinch! Turner is propped up by the cage and works his way back to his feet!
Colombu lands an uppercut in the clinch that drops Turner to his knees! Colombu keeps firing more shots against his stricken opponent and the referee jumps in to save him!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:08 of round 2, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Joe Colombu!
