Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Virgilio Davidson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Paul Walnuts (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, I have no idea who's going to take this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of New York, Virgilio Davidson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of New York, Paul Walnuts!
The judges for this bout are Jonathan Paton, John Kavanagh and Reed Andrews.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Walnuts misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Davidson tries to counter with a takedown but Walnuts is quick to defend against it.

Walnuts gets the takedown into side control.

Walnuts decides to stand back up. Walnuts steps back and let's Davidson get back to his feet.
Walnuts throws a leg kick that is checked
and Davidson counters with a leg kick that reverborates around the arena.
Walnuts tries to clinch there but Davidson circles away.
Davidson shoots in looking for a takedown. Walnuts tries to sprawl out of it but Davidson keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Walnuts manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Despite the aggression on Walnuts's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Walnuts bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Walnuts decides to stand up, so the ref orders Davidson to his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Walnuts is looking for a takedown here. He's shot in and has managed to get it, finishing up in Davidson's half guard.
Davidson is looking to escape.
Davidson trying desperately to get back to his feet here but he's not having any joy at all. He's going to tire himself out if he's not careful.
Walnuts keeping composed on the top, looking to control the action.
Davidson trying to get back to full guard but Walnuts takes advantage of the position and moves to full mount!

Davidson is trying to reverse the position but instead Walnuts has taken his back - oops!
Davidson turns into Walnuts and is now in his guard.
Davidson with a flurry of punches that miss.
Walnuts avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Davidson is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Walnuts is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Walnuts has escaped and now he's on top!

Davidson has a closed guard, preventing Walnuts from standing up.
Davidson might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Walnuts stands up from Davidson's guard - Walnuts perhaps looking for a knockout.
Davidson checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Walnuts tries to close the distance and clinch but Davidson swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
Davidson appears to be looking for a counter takedown.
Davidson dives in and grabs Walnuts's left leg, looking for a takedown. Walnuts pushes down on Davidson's head and hops out.
A slapping leg kick lands for Walnuts.
Davidson looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Walnuts is fending him off so far but Davidson persists. Nope, Walnuts circles away and we're back to standing.
Walnuts has done a lot of speed work in the buildup to this fight.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Virgilio Davidson. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Davidson is breathing heavily.

Walnuts has Davidson up against the cage in a clinch.
Davidson could do with losing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Walnuts on the defensive, avoiding the knees to the body.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Walnuts looks like he'd prefer to be striking at range right now.
Davidson looking to stall.
Davidson stalling against the cage.
Davidson stalling in the clinch but Walnuts improves position.
Davidson wants to stall.
Maybe Davidson would be better served going for some more strikes rather than trying to control so much.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Walnuts wants to break free but Davidson has control.

Davidson breaks the clinch.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Paul Walnuts dominated that round.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!


Walnuts cracks a nice hook into Davidson's ribs.
Walnuts is looking to clinch but Davidson is avoiding it.
Walnuts connects with a right hand. Davidson shakes it off.


It looks like Virgilio Davidson has been cut.
Walnuts throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Davidson appears to be looking for a counter takedown.

Walnuts moves into range and clinches up with Davidson.

Davidson breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Walnuts tries a low kick but Davidson avoids it.
Davidson attempts a counter takedown but Walnuts avoids it well and moves away.

Davidson tries to keep at a distance but Walnuts has taken the fight into the clinch.

Walnuts is trying to break the clinch but Davidson has him pressed against the cage.

Davidson escapes the clinch and we're back to striking.

Walnuts feints and then winds up with a huge right hand that connects perfectly and sends Davidson sprawling to the canvas! Davidson rolls over backwards and springs off the cage and manages to regain his footing - how acrobatic! Oh, he's still wobbly - can Walnuts finish him?!


Davidson is rocked!
Walnuts throws an overhand right that has Davidson reeling! Walnuts follows up with more punches and Davidson is out cold! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:24 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Paul Walnuts!
