The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Boubeez blocks a leg kick.
Well, he's not going to score with shots like that. A lazy body kick attempt from Arantes.
Boubeez swings for the body but Arantes moves out of range.
Arantes looked to counter that last move with a leg kick but didn't pull the trigger.

and Boubeez counters with a combination of strikes to the head and body that crumple Arantes!

Arantes is rocked!
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
Oh Arantes is still in real trouble! Will he be able to recover?!!
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Arantes seems to have got his legs back now.
Boubeez works his way into full mount!
Boubeez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.
Let's hope that Boubeez has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.

It looks like Boubeez might be adopting somewhat of a lay and pray gameplan here, which I'm sure won't go down too well with the paying fans in attendance... Or the ring announcers come to think of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Boubeez lands an elbow that was bordering on illegal but the referee lets it go with a warning.
Boubeez takes a little breather and maintains the position. The referee will be looking for him to stay active from such a dominant position though.

Boubeez is working on an americana here. Ooh, that looks pretty nasty! Nope, Arantes has managed to escape the submission attempt.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Arantes is bucking up trying to escape but Boubeez cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Arantes fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Boubeez avoids it really well and circles away.

Boubeez connects with a nice looking jab.
Boubeez throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Arantes stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Boubeez fires a straight punch through the middle that cracks Arantes square on the jaw! Damn, Arantes is out cold on his feet and topples face first to the canvas! Wow, I haven't seen a knockout that brutal in a long time!
