Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Jon Irenicus (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Buzz Lightbeer (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Irenicus kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Shadows of Amn. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Irenicus's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Irenicus duly obliges.

Lightbeer ducks under a wild hook from Irenicus.
Lightbeer throws a jab, cross combination which is slipped
and Irenicus counters with a straight right hand.
Irenicus throws a head kick that misses.
A little jabbing left from Lightbeer on the counter but it doesn't find it's target.
Lightbeer looks to throw the jab but Irenicus is out of range.
Lightbeer takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.

Lightbeer lands a really nice looking cross but Irenicus seems unphased.

It looks like Jon Irenicus has been cut.
Irenicus looks for the body kick but Lightbeer saw that one coming.
Irenicus misses with a hook. Lightbeer ducked under it nicely.
Irenicus will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Irenicus is really peppering his opponent's head with punches.

Buzz Lightbeer seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
A decent looking cross lands there for Lightbeer.

and Irenicus cracks him with a counter punch right on the button.

Irenicus takes a punch right to his stomach. That took the wind out of him momentarily.
Irenicus missing with a left hand there. Lightbeer was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Lightbeer takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.
Irenicus cracks Lightbeer with a good jab.
Irenicus scores with a head kick. Lightbeer tried to block it but didn't get his arm up in time.
Lightbeer lands with a kick to the temple. Irenicus shrugs as if to say "is that all you've got?"
Irenicus takes a jab on the nose there. A little bit of blood seems to be coming out. Hopefully that won't affect his breathing.

Sloppy strikes from Lightbeer. Those never looked like landing.
Irenicus swung with a counter right hand that didn't connect.
Oh Irenicus is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Lightbeer cracks Irenicus with a nasty uppercut that draws ooohs from the crowd and sends Irenicus tumbling backwards onto the mat. He tries to recover but Lightbeer pounces and lands a hail of unanswered strikes that forces the referee to step in to end the fight! Irenicus is not happy but he gave the referee no choice!

Buzz Lightbeer bigged himself up after the win. The crowd seemed to love it.
