Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 10 - 23 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, John Ottway!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 9 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Sean Foster!
The judges for this bout are Anni Minnemäki, Johanna Lukiainen and Ben Zyskovitsi.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Ottway clinches up with Foster and pushes him back against the cage.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Foster is trying to work out of this bad position, with his back against the cage.

Ottway lands a nice trip takedown into half guard.
Foster looks more muscular than last time we saw him. He must have been on the weights.
Ottway thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Ground and pound from Ottway.
Ottway looks to score some points with some ground and pound.
Foster wants to get back to full guard.
Ottway misses with a head shot. Foster uses the momentum to regain guard.

Ottway decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Ottway closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
The two fighters are working to gain dominance in the clinch.
Foster tries to score a body lock takedown but Ottway shows good agility there to stay on his feet.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Ottway keeps the fight in the clinch, despite Foster's efforts to push away.

Ottway is trying to trip Foster. He has hold of a leg but Foster is hopping around, keeping his balance for the moment. Ottway persists though and gets the takedown into guard.
Ottway lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.

Foster has managed to wall walk up one of the corner posts to get back to his feet. Ottway is pushing him up against the cage, looking to control the position.

Ottway gets double underhooks and manages to take the fight to the ground.
Ottway working from the guard for now, landing some ground and pound.
A big thud reverberates around the arena there as Ottway accidentally thumps the mat. Hopefully he's not broken his hand.
Foster is trying to control the position but Ottway postures up.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Ottway connects with a couple of short punches.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Ottway gets to his feet - Foster follows without any prompting.
Foster gets his takedown attempt stuffed easily
and he gets countered with a snapping leg kick.
Foster looks winded!

That's two minutes gone in the round.

Ottway shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Foster's guard.
Ottway postures up and lands some nice ground and pound.
Ottway lands a nice shot whilst sitting in his opponent's guard.
Foster looking to control.
Ottway lands a couple of decent looking shots.
Ottway makes a bit of distance and scores with some ground and pound, still in guard.
Ottway throws a big right hand that misses.
Ottway with a flurry of punches that miss.
Ottway distracts Foster with his right hand and drops a big elbow with his other arm.
Foster is working the butterfly guard. He manages to land a nice scissor sweep and is now in half guard on the top. Nice move.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fighters are starting to perspire pretty heavily.
Foster missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Ottway tries to roll over but Foster keeps him under control.
Ottway gets full guard.

Ottway is working actively from the bottom, looking for submissions. He's escaped his hips to the side and he's going for an armbar! Foster has his hands clasped together but Ottway extends and breaks Foster's desperate grasp, forcing a tap out due to armbar! Nice BJJ displayed there by Ottway.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:32 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Armbar). John Ottway!
