Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Mickey Mouse (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Andy Askren (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Mouse comes to the cage accompanied by Mickey Mouse clubhouse. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Mouse throws a poor cross that misses

and Askren counters by moving into the clinch.

Askren jumps guard but Mouse stands there with Askren around his waist. Askren gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Andy Askren seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Mouse lands a jab.
Askren looks for a takedown but Mouse sprawls well.
Mouse seem to be loading up, looking for a big counter.

Askren bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Mouse's guard.

and Mouse counters with a lovely shot to the body.

and Mouse counters with a series of strikes. Askren will be more careful next time no doubt.

Askren feints and as Mouse raises his hands in defense, Askren changes levels and drives through with a takedown into guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

and Mouse counters with a good right hand that lands right on the jaw.
