The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
The fighters circling - Leija throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
Stapleton rushes in with a sloppy looking punch
and Leija counters with a nice low kick that buckles Stapleton's knee momentarily.

Stapleton lands a big head kick that sends Leija tumbling to the mat! Stapleton takes a step backwards and waves Leija back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Alfredo Leija has been cut.
Stapleton throws a hard body shot but it just misses.
Leija only half commits to the counter leg kick.
Stapleton throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Leija sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Leija looks to land a right hand but Stapleton moved out of range.

We've been informed that Leija has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

and Leija counters with a nice right hand that sends Stapleton toppling to the canvas! Stapleton scrambles and gets back to his feet - can Leija finish him?!

and Leija counters with a stiff jab, followed by a cross and an uppercut! That's too much punishment for Stapleton to take - he tumbles to the canvas, blood pouring from his nose, barely conscious. That's the end of the fight! Great knockout by Leija !
