Coming up we have a light heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jimmy Hendrix (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Mitchel (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jimmy Hendrix!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, John Mitchel!
The judges for this bout are Alan Glass, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hendrix fails with a rather predictable takedown attempt.
Hendrix tries to drive through with a takedown attempt but Mitchel defends well and Hendrix ends up having to push Mitchel into the cage where they will battle it out in the clinch.
Hendrix shoots in looking for a takedown. Mitchel tries to sprawl out of it but Hendrix keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Mitchel manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Despite the aggression on Mitchel's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Jimmy Hendrix. That's going to take a lot out of him.

Mitchel shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Mitchel showed some decent athleticism there.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Hendrix can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Mitchel controls the pace.

Hendrix tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Mitchel has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Mitchel throws a strike but Hendrix rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.

Mitchel is working from a closed guard but he's struggling to control his opponent.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Hendrix slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Hendrix closes the distance and pushes Mitchel back into the cage.
Mitchel has been the more effective fighter overall so far.
Mitchel prevents Hendrix from breaking the clinch.

Mitchel looking to sweep using the butterfly guard but Hendrix puts pay to that idea as he passes nicely into half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Mitchel drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.
Mitchel wants to pass the guard but Hendrix is keeping the position.
Hendrix pulls Mitchel in close to prevent any damage.

Hendrix is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Hendrix will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Mitchel gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Mitchel pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Hendrix stumbles momentarily as he takes a strong leg kick from Mitchel.
Hendrix throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.

Mitchel shoots in and scores a nice double leg takedown into half guard.
Hendrix makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Hendrix.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

A close second round but John Mitchel will probably get the nod - 10:9.
The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action! This is the final round!

Hendrix appears to be looking for a big counter.

Mitchel wants to stand but Hendrix is controlling his posture from full guard.

Hendrix scrambles, trying to get to his feet, but Mitchel manages to mount him!

Mitchel jumps to the side looking to secure the arm triangle…. Ooooh, that looks tight… Hendrix is gargling but he's managed to escape! Nice work there by Hendrix and Mitchel has given up the dominant position trying to land that submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
Mitchel is moving around in side control but his primary objective seems to be to maintain the position.

Mitchel decides to stand up, so the ref orders Hendrix to his feet.
Hendrix will have to do better than that with his takedown attempts.

Mitchel fakes with an overhand right and moves in to clinch with Hendrix, pushing him back against the cage.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

Hendrix pulls Mitchel into guard.
Mitchel postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

And that's the end of the fight!
John Mitchel comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Mitchel has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
