The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Dobbs bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
Deal tries to improve position but can't.
Deal is trying to stand back up. He's worked his way up against the cage but Dobbs has just dragged him back down to the mat.
Dobbs cracks Deal with a big right hand but Deal just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.
Deal can't do much from the bottom here.
Deal takes a couple of big shots there - the referee warns him that he has to defend himself better.
Dobbs throwing strikes but Deal manages to buck up and roll into a nice reversal - now he's on top in side control!
You can see the frustration on Dobbs's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
Dobbs throwing some weak shots from the bottom that do no damage.

Deal has had enough of the ground for now and decides to stand.
Deal lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Deal.

Dobbs looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into mount! Oh, that's bad for Deal!
Deal is desperately trying to improve his position but Dobbs has a good base and remains in mount.
Dobbs can't quite control the action as he would like just now, as Deal is looking to escape.
Dobbs avoids the attempt from Deal to control.

Dobbs is still in mount, landing shots to his trapped opponent. Deal can't stay in a position like this for much longer.

Deal is working to get back to half guard.
Dobbs knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Deal on the ground.
Deal is bucking up trying to escape but Dobbs cracks him with another couple of good strikes.
Dobbs unloads with some vicious shots from mount and Deal wants out - he looks towards the referee who steps in to save him! Dobbs celebrates on the cage and the crowd goes wild!
