Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Kato Masaishii (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Vinny Peters Jr (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Vinny Peters Jr told me before the fight that he's been watching a lot of DVDs so let's see if that helps him in this one! I can't wait to find out!

The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Wesley Smith and Stewart Dunkirk.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Masaishii shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Peters Jr defends it nicely.
Peters Jr fails with the takedown
and Masaishii counters with a nice body shot.
Masaishii avoids a lazy jab quite easily.
Peters Jr misses with a takedown
and Masaishii counters with a left and a right that stings Peters Jr.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Masaishii has taken the fight to the clinch.

Masaishii lands with a short punch from the clinch.
Peters Jr wants a takedown but no success here.
Kato Masaishii has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Vinny Peters Jr.
Masaishii lands a short shot on the inside that snaps the head of Peters Jr backwards.
It looks like Vinny Peters Jr has been cut.
Masaishii landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Peters Jr looks winded!
Masaishii lands a body shot.
A right hook to the body lands for Masaishii.
Masaishii landing knees to the head.
Masaishii lands an elbow inside.
Masaishii manages to break the clinch.
Masaishii connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
A momentary lapse in concentration from Peters Jr enables Masaishii to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Peters Jr manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.
That's two minutes gone in the round.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.
Masaishii stands and throws Peters Jr's legs to the side, diving into side control.
Peters Jr is being controlled here.
Masaishii wants to lay and pray for a moment but Peters Jr keeps working.
Masaishii advances to mount.
Masaishii moves to take his opponent's back.
Masaishii has the hooks sunk in and you can see the will to fight slowly draining out of Peters Jr's body.
Masaishii has managed to slip his arm under Peters Jr's chin. This could be all over... yep, Peters Jr is tapping out! Submission win for Masaishii.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:53 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (RNC). Kato Masaishii!
Kato Masaishii took some time post fight to say the following; 'This is a message for Puck Heidegger. You might have 15lbs of gold that says you're the best, but right now ladies and gents, you are looking at the best in this division. This is an open challenge to anyone step up and face me.
