PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Marc Lewis Dillinger (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Pedro Almodovar (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Almodovar comes into a darkened arena with his song building. Underground kicks in, the lights come on and the crowd goes wild! What a showman! These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 9 - 18 - 1, fighting out of St Petersburg, Marc Lewis Dillinger!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 8 - 0, fighting out of New York, Pedro Almodovar!
The judges for this bout are Konstantin Menshow, Sergei Dronov and Igor Prikhodko.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Dillinger.
Almodovar throws a right and a left that Dillinger avoids nicely.
Dillinger slips a jab from Almodovar.
Dillinger looks for a takedown here. Will he get it? Almodovar is fending him off so far but Dillinger persists. Nope, Almodovar circles away and we're back to standing.
Dillinger takes a jab right on the nose. That must have hurt but he shrugs his shoulders and looks to return the favor.

Almodovar lands a big head kick that sends Dillinger tumbling to the mat! Almodovar takes a step backwards and waves Dillinger back to his feet - he wants the finish!

It looks like Marc Lewis Dillinger has been cut.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Dillinger shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Almodovar pinned against the cage. Almodovar gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.
Oh Dillinger is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Marc Lewis Dillinger. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Dillinger shakes his hands off, looking to compose himself, but takes a jab to the jaw whilst he does it.
Almodovar lands a powerful looking uppercut that connected with his opponent's jaw.
Dillinger seems to have got his legs back now.
Almodovar wings a very wild body shot but it does the job and lands to the midsection.
Dillinger looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.

Almodovar does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
A quick step to the side and Dillinger tries to counter with a shot to the body but it doesn't connect.

Almodovar is desperately trying to improve his position but Dillinger has a good base and remains in mount.

Dillinger's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.
Dillinger has controlled the position for a good 20 seconds, which will no doubt be starting to frustrate his opponent.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Pedro Almodovar dominated that round.

That's time! Dillinger's corner gives him a slap on the ass as he gets ready to fight.

Dillinger darts in looking for a takedown but Almodovar gets double underhooks and turns Dillinger into the cage.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Dillinger slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Dillinger shoots in looking for a takedown. Almodovar tries to sprawl out of it but Dillinger keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Almodovar manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Dillinger stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Almodovar swivels though and keeps the full guard.

I've got Almodovar winning every round here. Surely the decision will go his way and he'll pick up a well deserved decision victory. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
