Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Pookie Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Gerbert Bryant (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jackson comes to the cage accompanied by Ride The Train. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 7 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Gerbert Bryant!
The judges for this bout are Don Winkell, Frank Antenori and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Bryant throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.

Bryant scores with a nice takedown into half guard. Let's see what he's got on the ground.
Bryant missing with some ground and pound from the half guard.
Bryant working some ground and pound from close in. He's looking to maintain this position and strike for a while by the looks of things... although he'll probably advance to full mount in a minute now I've said that.
Bryant is trying to control. Jackson wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Bryant connects with a looping left hand that seems like it dazed Jackson momentarily.


It looks like Pookie Jackson has been cut.
A bone on bone clash there as Bryant blocks the leg kick.
Jackson pivots as if he's going to throw a leg kick but stops half way.
Bryant swings widly with a right hand
and Jackson counters with a right hand to the body.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Bryant shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in side control! That's better than Bryant was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!
Jackson tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Bryant wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
Bryant has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Bryant throws an elbow but Jackson slips to the side and avoids it well.

The fighters' corners scream their final instructions, as the referee calls time. Here we go, back to the action!

It looked like Jackson wanted to counter with a hook but didn't fully commit.

and Bryant counters with a crisp hook to the side of the head.
Pookie Jackson is winning the standup battle so far.
Bryant moves out of range as Jackson throws a body kick.
Bryant gets cracked there but stands up to it.

Bryant changes levels for a counter takedown but doesn't follow through with his attempt.
A looping hook to the body misses from Bryant. Jackson does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Jackson takes a counter punch right on the button for his troubles.
Pookie Jackson is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.

Bryant takes a swing at Jackson's ribcage but misses.

Pookie Jackson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Jackson throws a body kick but he wasn't in range.
Bryant takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.

Jackson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.

And an attempted straight right on the counter from Bryant! But no joy.

and Bryant counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.

Bryant wants to pass the guard but Jackson is keeping the position.
Bryant keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Jackson's head.

Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Bryant postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

Bryant throws an elbow that misses. Jackson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Bryant's guard. Nice move by Jackson!

Jackson not doing a lot at the moment. He'll have to show some more aggression or the fight will get stood up.

Bryant wants to control but Jackson is keeping busy and won't allow it.

The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Bryant is doing well to control the position and prevent Jackson from advancing to side control.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

That was a close second round but I would say that Pookie Jackson will probably get the nod.
Both fighters have cut men working on them during the interval.
That's the end of the round. The referee orders the cornermen out of the cage so we can get back down to business. This is the final round!

Jackson lands a head kick. Bryant smiles back at him and beckons him forward.

Bryant seems content to control from guard here. He's going to have to remain active though if he doesn't want to get stood back up.

Bryant wants to control from the top but Jackson keeps moving.
The referee wants the fighters to be more active or he's going to reset them on the feet.
Bryant throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Jackson works some decent striking defense from the bottom.
Jackson wants to stand up but Bryant is controlling him.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.

Jackson quickly followed up with a counter body kick but doesn't connect.

and Bryant counters with a lovely straight right hand!
Bryant changes levels and scores with a jab to the body.
Both fighters are breathing heavily.
Bryant will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Bryant thows a left - swing and a miss!
Bryant might want to mix his strikes up a bit more. He's just going for head shots at the moment and that can become a bit predictable.
Jackson missing with a left hand there. Bryant was out of range so wasted energy throwing that one.
Bryant defending well as Jackson loads up on a big left hand.
Jackson fakes low and throws an overhand right that catches Bryant on the side of the head.
Bryant's jab looks to have found its range, popping Jackson under the eye.
Bryant blocks a head kick by Jackson.
Jackson takes an uppercut right on the button but keeps his composure.
