Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Lord Sake!
The judges for this bout are Yukihiro Yamamoto, Taro Takaoka and Sosuke Kotani.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Sake swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Sake darts in looking for a takedown but Nelson gets double underhooks and turns Sake into the cage.

Nelson scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Sake managing to avoid any damage from the strikes thrown by Nelson.

Nelson tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Nelson has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!
You can see the frustration on Sake's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Nelson swings around for an armbar but Sake sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Nelson's guard.

Nelson decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Sake has no desire to be mounted, so is trying to control. Nelson is working away from the top position though.
Neither fighter is being very active at the moment, with Nelson in particular looking to stall.

Sake is defending against the submission attempts here by Nelson.

Sake escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Nelson gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.

Sake tries to score a power double leg takedown but Nelson sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Sake somewhat.

The crowd are hurling abuse towards the fighters... You can hardly blame them though because there isn't a lot going on in the fight.
Sake is trying to avoid being dragged into an even worse position than he's already in but Nelson is staying active.

Nelson wants to work for a kimura but he's foiled early by Sake, who protects the arm well.

Nelson is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Sake knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Sake shoots in looking for a takedown. Nelson tries to sprawl out of it but Sake keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Nelson manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Nelson darts in and clinches Sake up against the cage.

Nelson pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Sake shoots in but doesn't get the takedown

and Nelson counters with a single leg into guard. Sake didn't expect that.

Nelson drops back looking for a leg! Sake is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Sake manages to kick Nelson off! Nelson jumps back into Sake's guard.

Sake is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.
It really doesn't seem like the step up in weight is hurting Nelson here at all. He's more than holding his own against the bigger man.
