Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Brady Wells!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Robert Johnson!
The judges for this bout are Timothy Bukovac, Jack Bonds and Frank Antenori.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Johnson drives through with a really nice takedown into side control.
Wells is trying to improve his position.
Johnson trying to control the action but Wells is working from the bottom.
Wells wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Johnson goes for an armbar! This could be all over! Wait, no, Wells rolls with the submission and now he's on top in Johnson's guard! Nice work there by Wells!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Wells missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Johnson is trying to control the position but Wells postures up.
Wells will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

Wells postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Wells avoids a guillotine attempt easily.
Wells is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Johnson wants to stand and escape but Wells is having none of it.
Wells has to be careful here, sitting in the guard of a superior BJJ player.
Wells throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.

Johnson tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The ref stands the fighters back up due to a lack of activity.

Johnson closes the distance and after a bit of a stuggle, scores a takedown into Wells's guard.
Wells keeping moving, preventing Johnson from controlling successfully.
Johnson showing good wrestling skills to control the position.

Johnson throwing shots from guard but he's hitting more mat than opponent.
Wells can't keep his opponent in guard - Johnson advances to half guard, no doubt looking to mount.
Wells wants to control but Johnson is keeping busy.
Johnson is nestled in close to Wells, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Johnson is pressing down on Wells's thigh, looking to free his foot. Wells is holding on for now.

Johnson is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Wells defends it well.
Wells really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Johnson stops Wells from getting back to his feet.

Johnson is trying to work for a kimura but Wells is defending well.
The referee calls for the fighters to work.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Wells is trying to stand.
Johnson looks over to his corner - he wants some instructions but his corner are not responding.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Robert Johnson dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.

Johnson drives through with a takedown into guard.
Wells wants to get back to his feet but he's too absorbed in his own little project and Johnson manages to pass to side control.

Wells looks like he's trying to stand up.
Johnson is working hard to pass the guard. He's done it - he's now in full mount! Trouble for Wells!
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Johnson postures up and lands a whopping elbow - oh that's hurt Wells bigstyle! Two more strikes land for Johnson and the fight is over!
