Johnson comes into the arena with Eazy e- real mother fuckin gs blaring out of the sound system. Both fighter's entrance songs getting the crowd jumping here.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 7 - 0 - 0, fighting out of London, DeShawn Johnson!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 5 - 4 - 0, fighting out of New York, James Coshak!
The judges for this bout are Reed Andrews, Anthony Taglia and Franklyn Lucas.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Coshak with a lazy takedown attempt

and Johnson counters by moving into the clinch. Good anticipation by Johnson.
A short right from Johnson on the inside.
Johnson scores with a nice hook to the head.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.

Johnson breaks from the clinch.
Johnson throws a leg kick which misses Coshak's front leg but catches the back leg as Coshak tries to avoid it.
James Coshak seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Johnson lands a leg kick that knocks Coshak off balance momentarily.
Johnson with a hook.
Johnson lands a right hook to the body.
Johnson lands a leg kick. The shin dug right into the meat of the thigh.
Coshak walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.


It looks like James Coshak has been cut.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Johnson lands a big right hand that sends Coshak crashing to the mat! Johnson stays standing though and waves Coshak back to his feet!


Coshak is rocked!
Coshak shoots for a takedown but Johnson saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Coshak has his takedown stuffed
and Johnson counters with a nice jab to the body that keeps Coshak thinking.
DeShawn Johnson has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of James Coshak.

Coshak tries for a takedown but Johnson circles away easily

and Johnson counters with a crisp right hand that drops Coshak! Johnson lets Coshak back up to his feet, looking for a finish!
Coshak is still on wobbly legs! Can Johnson finish him?
Johnson looks to have improved his striking defense since last time we saw him fight.
Johnson throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Coshak stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.
Coshak seems to have recovered his senses.
Johnson lets loose with a powerful body kick. Coshak will feel that in the morning.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Johnson connects with a leg kick. He turned his hip over nicely there.
Johnson scores with a reasonable looking shot to the body. Coshak doesn't seem bothered though.
Johnson throws a quick inside leg kick.
Johnson scores with the left hand. Coshak knows he should have avoided that one.

Johnson lands a big uppercut and Coshak crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Coshak looks OK. Johnson waves Coshak back to his feet!
Johnson scores with a hook to the body. Coshak takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Johnson closes the distance and lands a vicious right hand that drops Coshak! Johnson dives in looking to finish! Coshak is still trying to defend himself but he's taking too many shots and the referee has no choice but to stop the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:07 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). DeShawn Johnson!
A relieved looking DeShawn Johnson thanked the fans for their support and gave the usual line about them being amazing. They seemed to believe that he actually meant it.
James Coshak was interviewed post fight and said 'I was on my off-game tonight, congratulations to my opponent for being on top of that and taking advantage of my weaknesses.'.
