Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Brandon Baumgartner (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Marcus Davis (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 2 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Brandon Baumgartner!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Marcus Davis!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Paulsen Ambrosius and Aafke Stam.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Baumgartner goes for a double leg but Davis avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Davis continues to drive forward.
Baumgartner dodges the punch combination from Davis.
Baumgartner walks straight into a jab right on the nose. That one stung - he's blinking and trying to clear his head.
Davis scores with a one two! Baumgartner had his feet all tangled up there and couldn't avoid the strikes.
Baumgartner moves out of range of the strikes.
Baumgartner closes this distance looking for a takedown but Davis circles away.
Davis misses with a right hand

so Baumgartner counters with a double leg into guard. Good agility.
Baumgartner wants to pass the guard but Davis is keeping the position.

Davis keeping moving, preventing Baumgartner from controlling successfully.
Baumgartner throwing elbows and punches but not connecting, as Davis works some decent striking defense from the bottom.

Davis pushes Baumgartner off and scrambles back to his feet.
Baumgartner takes a shot to the nose. Hopefully that hasn't broken it.

and Davis counters with a two punch combo.

Baumgartner seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Baumgartner shoots in for a takedown but doesn't get it.
Davis looks to throw the jab but Baumgartner is out of range.

Baumgartner dives in and grabs Davis's left leg, looking for a takedown. Davis pushes down on Baumgartner's head and hops out.

Baumgartner shoots in for a takedown and gets it. Let's see what he's got on the mat.

Baumgartner is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Davis sees it coming and defends easily.

Baumgartner decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.

Davis lunges in with swinging rights and lefts but Baumgartner circles away quickly and effectively.
Baumgartner shoots in for a takedown. "Ole!" shouts Davis as he jumps to the side.

Baumgartner rushes Davis and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Davis gets double underhooks to prevent a takedown attempt from Baumgartner.
Baumgartner looks to be in better condition than last time we saw him fight. Obviously he's been working hard on his cardio.
Baumgartner keeps control of Davis as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.

Baumgartner drags the fight down to the ground.
Davis really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Baumgartner. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Baumgartner had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Davis defends it easily.

Davis decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.
Baumgartner shoots in looking for a takedown but Davis manages to keep the fight standing, pushing Baumgartner's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.
Davis uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Baumgartner.

Baumgartner passes Davis's left leg - he's now in half guard.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Baumgartner thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Davis's head.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Davis dominated that round.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.


No luck for Baumgartner with that takedown attempt.
Davis looks to land a combination. Baumgartner sees it coming but can only parry a couple of the shots.

Baumgartner drives through with a takedown into Davis's guard. Let's see what he can do from the top position.
Baumgartner throws a strike but Davis rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Davis lands a jab. Then a cross. Then finally a nice hook to the body. Good work there by Davis.

Baumgartner darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.

Davis has one foot on Baumgartner's thigh - he pushes off and manages to get back to his feet.

Davis ducks down and throws a hook to the body.
Baumgartner shoots in and drives through. Davis sprawls well.
Davis throws a nice looking combination but Baumgartner bobs and weaves to avoid any damage.
Davis stuffs the takedown.

Baumgartner dives in for a single leg takedown but Davis sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

A momentary lapse in concentration from Davis enables Baumgartner to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. Davis manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

Davis is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Davis tries to work over Baumgartner's body with a swooping hook but it only glances the target.
Baumgartner tries to pull guard but Davis forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Baumgartner tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Davis just stands there and leans against the cage.
Baumgartner struggles to land a body shot inside as Davis controls his hands.
Baumgartner jumps guard but Davis stands there with Baumgartner around his waist. Baumgartner gives up and drops back to his feet. We remain in the clinch.

Baumgartner has hold of one of Davis's legs. Davis is fighting the takedown attempt but Baumgartner gets the trip and lands the takedown into guard.

The fighters are working up against the cage. Davis manages to wriggle his way back to his feet, so the fighters are now clinched against the cage.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Marcus Davis showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!

Baumgartner looking for a kimura but he'll have to free his other leg if he wants to finish that. Perhaps he's just using it as a distraction technique.

Baumgartner is looking for a kimura. It's going to be difficult to finish that from half guard though and Davis defends it well.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

The referee has motioned to the fighters to stand back up. He just wasn't happy with the level of activity.

Davis jabs Baumgartner to the body, keeping him at a distance.
Marcus Davis is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.

and Baumgartner counters with a nice shoot takedown that brings the fighters to the ground.
