Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the light heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Jamar Alexander!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, DaQuan King!
The judges for this bout are Tarja Halkonen, Ben Zyskovitsi and Anni Minnemäki.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Alexander decides to change it up a bit and drives through with a nice takedown into half guard.

King pushes Alexander off and gets back to his feet.
Nice takedown defense from Alexander. No joy for King on that attempt.
Alexander drops down looking for a counter takedown but King sprawls and moves away.
King misses with a takedown attempt - Alexander sprawls well and throws a nice strike on the way out which just misses.
Alexander tries to counter by moving into the clinch but King manages to circle out of the way.

King shoots in looking for a takedown but Alexander manages to keep the fight standing, pushing King's face into the canvas for good measure before circling away.

King gets in close and instigates a clinch.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.
The pace really dropping off here, momentarily.
Alexander tries to land a knee to the head but King blocks with his arms.

Alexander tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but King paws at him with a jab and circles away.
King takes a step towards his opponent and connects with a left hand, before circling away.


It looks like Jamar Alexander has been cut.
King tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Alexander swivels and escapes.
Alexander changes levels looking for a counter takedown but doesn't commit.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

King shoots for a double leg takedown but Alexander sprawls well. He's pushed King's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.

King shoots in with a takedown attempt and he has Alexander pinned against the cage. Alexander gets the underhooks and manages to circle away.

King jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Alexander walks away with a smile on his face. King gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Alexander tries to close the distance and clinch but King swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
King shoots for a takedown but Alexander saw that one coming a mile off and avoided it easily.
The fight stays on the outside here - Alexander looks like he's thinking about clinching though.

DaQuan King has got the better of the ground game so far.
King is breathing heavily.

King wants to control but Alexander is keeping busy.

Alexander has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.

The crowd are getting on the fighters' backs, as the pace has dropped off in the last minute or so.
King tries to improve position but can't.

Alexander ties up his opponent against the cage and manages to drag the fight down to the ground. Alexander no doubt will be looking to work submissions from his guard.

Alexander is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.
King postures up to throw the ground and pound strikes but they don't connect.
King with a flurry of punches that miss.
Alexander is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that King can do to turn this around?
King won't allow Alexander to get back to his feet.
King throws a strike but Alexander rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Alexander stays in close to King's body and controls the position.
Alexander's ground tactics aren't going to win him many fans. Let's hope he's got fireworks for us if he gets back to his feet because he's not doing much on the ground.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Alexander wants to get up but he can't break King's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.
Alexander is just sitting in guard, looking to avoid any submissions.
Alexander is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.
Alexander stays in close to King's body and controls the position.
King has momentary wrist control but Alexander slips an elbow through the middle.
Alexander slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!

A momentary lapse in concentration from King enables Alexander to shoot in and score with a neat double leg. King manages to secure a closed guard as the fighters hit the mat.

And that's the end of the fight!
Jamar Alexander showed his dominance in that final round.
I think Alexander has won this one but let's see what the judges have to say. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
