Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Dan Devine (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ricardo Heart (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Devine comes to the cage accompanied by Till I Collapse. Man, I cannot wait for this one!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Dan Devine!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Ricardo Heart!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Cesar, Leandro Rodrigues and Alexandre Firmino.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Devine is looking to clinch.
Devine closes the distance and clinches up with Heart, looking for a takedown. Devine pushes Heart against the cage but Heart circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.

and Devine counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Heart's guard now.
Devine won't allow Heart to sweep him here.
Devine trying to control but Heart is working from the bottom.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Heart is looking for a triangle but Devine pushes his legs off easily.
Devine stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Heart swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Devine will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.
Devine trying to control the position from guard on top but Heart is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.

Heart tries to land a sweep but no joy.

The referee decides to stand the fighters back up.

Heart shoots in for a takedown! He's got it and he's managed to land in full mount! That's better than Heart was expecting from the takedown attempt, I'm sure!

Heart working to secure an arm triangle but it's not happening for him just yet.
Devine tries to get back to half guard but can't.
Devine wants to control but Heart is having none of it.

Heart is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Devine is surviving well by controlling Heart's body position as best he can.

Heart jumps to side control looking for an arm triangle but Devine manages to avoid the submission attempt.

Heart has knee on belly momentarily but Devine bucks him off and regains half guard.

The fighters are going at a pretty good pace and they're both starting to sweat now.

Devine has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Heart can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Devine throws some wild stikes that Heart manages to avoid easily.

A lull in the action here being met with boos from the crowd.
Devine has his opponent pinned against the cage, landing some nasty ground and pound that is really making a bit of a mess out of Heart's face.

Devine swings around for an armbar but it's a sloppy attempt and Heart is now in Devine's guard. A big mistake from Devine there, giving up the dominant position!
Heart wants to pass the guard but Devine is keeping the position.

Heart with a poor takedown

and Devine counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Heart's guard now.

Devine drops back looking for a leg! Heart is in trouble here! The fighters roll with the hold and Heart manages to kick Devine off! Devine jumps back into Heart's guard.

Heart is active off his back here, looking for submissions.

Devine sneaks a leg through and gets to half guard. That was like a knife through butter how easily he passed Heart's guard.

Devine moves nicely into side control.

Devine is looking for a kimura. He might have it! No, Heart has escaped the position, nice work there.
Devine trying to control the position but Heart is working away.

Devine is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Heart knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.
Heart prevents Devine from moving into mount.

Heart tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Devine wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

Heart manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.
Devine wants to free his trapped foot but Heart is holding on for dear life with his legs.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Heart fails with the takedown

and Devine counters with a nice single leg takedown and he's in Heart's guard now.

Heart keeping moving, preventing Devine from controlling successfully.

Devine is looking to advance position but Heart won't allow it.

Dan Devine overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Devine tries to pass to full mount but Heart defends it.
Heart is refusing to be controlled, as Devine sits in half guard.

The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action. This is the final round!

and Devine counters with a shoot takedown. Heart fights it but they end up in guard.
Heart can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Devine controls the pace.

Devine is pushing down on Heart's leg trying to pass to half guard. Heart is fighting to maintain full guard but Devine has managed to sneak the leg through.
