Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 4 - 7 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Michael Hayes!
The judges for this bout are Steve Erwin, Donatello Bradman and Francis DeMontford.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes shoots for a double leg takedown but Stewart sprawls well. He's pushed Hayes's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
A telegraphed takedown attempt from Hayes is defended easily by Stewart.
Stewart misses the shot to the body.
Hayes shoots in for a double leg but Stewart sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.
Alf Stewart has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Michael Hayes.
Hayes goes for a double leg but Stewart avoids the attempt and the two fighters end up clinched against the cage as Stewart continues to drive forward.

Hayes shoots in looking for a takedown. Stewart tries to sprawl out of it but Hayes keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Stewart manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.

Hayes dives in for a single leg takedown but Stewart sprawls and the fighters end up clinched against the cage.

Stewart is trying to close the distance and clinch up, after that failed offence from Hayes.

Horrible takedown attempt by Hayes or perhaps it was just good defense by Stewart, which made it look bad.
Stewart changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Hayes tries to avoid it but Stewart manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Hayes to the ground. Hayes escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Hayes shoots in and bounces Stewart off the cage to secure the takedown into guard.
Stewart is breathing heavily.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Stewart wants to stand up but Hayes is controlling him.

Hayes drops back, looking for a kneebar! Stewart looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Stewart looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Stewart!

Stewart stands, ready to strike. The ref makes him back up and allows Hayes to get to his feet.
Stewart really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.

Stewart tries to sprawl but Hayes drives through with a takedown into half guard.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hayes is looking to take a break and control but Stewart is keeping him honest, looking to work from the bottom.

Stewart is pushing off trying to get to his feet. Hayes has hold of the leg though and he's dropped back for a heel hook… has he got it?? YES! Stewart is tapping! This fight is all over!
