PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Charles Bronson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Henrique Ramos (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Bronson comes to the cage accompanied by Harmonica. Ramos has chosen Sepultura - Nomad as his entrance music. These two fighters really are very evenly matched on the feet - it will be fascinating to see who can assert themselves in that aspect of the fight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 11 - 6 - 0, fighting out of New York, Henrique Ramos!
The judges for this bout are Yves DeLean, Steve Smith and Dillan Fox.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Ramos throws a nice hook to the body that draws an oooh from the crowd.
Ramos uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Bronson.
Bronson with a nice looking leg kick. You could hear that one land in a back row.
Bronson takes a thudding leg kick, right into the meat of the thigh.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
Bronson cracks Ramos with a nice body shot.
Ramos doesn't land with the attempted body shot.

Bronson tries a body shot but Ramos blocks it.

Ramos pushes off and circles away, back to the middle of the mat.
Bronson has his hands up protecting his head but a hook from Ramos finds it's way round the side to connect with Bronson's head.
Ramos checks a low kick. Bone on bone - not my idea of a good time.
Ramos unleashes a big counter combination but Bronson bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Ramos swings for the body but Bronson moves out of range.
Ramos swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Bronson.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!
Bronson sizes up Ramos with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.
Bronson uses good head movement to avoid the hook from Ramos.

Bronson scores with a hook to the body. Ramos takes a step back and tries to catch his breath.

Bronson tries to counter by moving into the clinch but Ramos manages to circle out of the way.

Bronson does a little shimmy and throws a leg kick. The leg kick missed by a considerable margin though, making him look a little bit silly for doing the shimmy.
Ramos swings away with a counter right hand but no contact made.
Bronson swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Ramos.
Bronson fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
The fighters circling - Bronson throws out the jab but it was never going to land.
And Ramos tries to counter it with a takedown but Bronson pushes his down on his head and steps out.
Bronson is looking to slow Ramos down with leg kicks.
Ramos swings and misses with a hook to the body.

Ramos moves forwards but Bronson connects with a nice, crisp jab.

The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

A looping hook to the body misses from Bronson. Ramos does a little dance to reset his feet.

and Ramos counters with a nice double leg into side control. Bronson won't be happy with that.
Ramos tries to score with some ground and pound. Bronson controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.
Ramos throws a knee to the body but it doesn't do much damage.

Bronson regains half guard there - taking advantage of Ramos's attempt to lay and pray for a moment.
Ramos looks to land a strike but Bronson avoids it nicely and regains full guard.

Ramos throws an elbow that misses. Bronson uses the momentum to reverse the position. He's now in Ramos's guard. Nice move by Bronson!

Bronson is intent on slowing down the pace of the fight, simply looking to control.

Our spies down at at Black City inform us that Ramos has really been working on his submissions in the buildup to this fight. Will it pay off?
Bronson wants to pass the guard but Ramos is keeping the position.

A close round but Henrique Ramos will probably get the nod.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.

Ramos feints a straight left to the body, then turns around with a flashy move and hits Bronsons jaw with a dramatic spinning back fist!

Charles Bronson seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

The fighters circle momentarily. Bronson darts into range and connects with a nice straight punch.
Ramos throws a body punch but Bronson moves out of range.

Ramos motions for Bronson to come forward. Ramos throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.

This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Ramos is wiping some vaseline out of his eye. Bronson doesn't give a rats ass about fair play and cracks him with a massive hook to the side of the head! Ramos crumples to the floor out cold! The cornerman is going to be in Ramos's bad books for that mishap!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:40 of round 2, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Charles Bronson!
