Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Monty Brown (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claus Voormann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). The crowd seem to be enjoying Voormann's choice of entrance music: Beastie Boys-Sabotage. Claus Voormann has the better chin. Will he look to stand and bang today?

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 3 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Monty Brown!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Helsinki, Claus Voormann!
The judges for this bout are Roosa Järviläinen, Arvi Lind and Johanna Lukiainen.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Brown checks a low kick from Voormann.
Brown throws a big counter combination but Voormann scrambles out of danger and avoids any damage.
Voormann delivers a nice body kick.
Nice sprawl there from Voormann as Brown shoots in.
As Brown backs off Voormann throws a huge counter combo but Brown manages to avoid it all.

The fight moves into the clinch position.

Brown manages to break the clinch.

Voormann closes the distance and clinches.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Brown tries to pull guard but can't drag his opponent to the mat. Voormann just stands there and leans against the cage.
Voormann prevents Brown from breaking the clinch.

Voormann's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Brown avoids the head kick by Voormann.
Brown wants to take advantage of his opponent's missed offense by moving into the clinch.

Voormann swats away the attempt to clinch by Brown.
Voormann shapes to counter with a head kick.
Voormann scores with a slapping inside leg kick.
Voormann throws a combination. Brown tries to block but a couple of punches get through.

Brown tries to sprawl but Voormann drives through with a takedown into half guard.
Brown won't allow Voormann to pass to mount.

Voormann decides to stand up and try his luck on the feet.
Voormann motions for Brown to come forward. Voormann throws a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Brown tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Voormann swivels and escapes.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Monty Brown. That's going to take a lot out of him.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Brown tries to score a power double leg takedown but Voormann sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Brown somewhat.
Voormann lets it all go there with a big combo counter but none of the punches connected.
Voormann pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Voormann misses with a head kick.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.

Voormann looking to shoot here. He's gone for it and he's landed a takedown into side control! Oh, that's bad for Brown!
Brown throws a couple of punches but he's in a bad position and they don't land.
Voormann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Brown is looking to regain half guard here but Voormann keeps moving and retains side control.
Brown wants to escape from the position here - easier said than done!

Voormann stands up.
Brown is looking to clinch.
Brown sets himself, and Voormann steps forward looking for the clinch! Brown avoids it this time.
Brown closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.
Brown fails with a takedown attempt from distance.
Voormann tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Voormann jabs at Brown's body.

Voormann clinches with his opponent.
Brown tries to pull guard but Voormann holds him up against the cage and eventually Brown drops back down to his feet.
Brown jumps guard but Voormann turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.
Brown tries to pull guard but Voormann forces him back to his feet, against the cage.
Brown jumps guard but his hands slip and he falls flat on his back. Well, he's made himself look a right mug there, as Voormann walks away with a smile on his face. Brown gets slowly back to his feet and shakes his head.
Brown is breathing heavily.

Voormann clinches with his opponent.
Brown is trying to pull guard but being pressed up against the cage enables Voormann to keep the fight standing.
Voormann controlling the action here for a moment.
Brown fails to pull the fight into his guard.
Brown tries to pull guard but Voormann holds him up against the cage and eventually Brown drops back down to his feet.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Claus Voormann dominated that round.
The corners get their ten second warning. Both fighters stand from their stools and stare eachother down, ready to get back to the action.

Brown tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Voormann swivels and escapes.
Voormann tries a counter takedown but it's more of a dummy move, and he uses it to push himself away.

Voormann clinches up against the cage.

Voormann breaks the clinch and we return to the middle of the mat.
Brown blocks a head kick by Voormann.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Voormann drives through and clinches with Brown against the cage.
Brown tries to pull guard but Voormann won't allow it.
Brown jumps guard but Voormann turns him against the cage and keeps the fight standing.

Voormann shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Brown's guard.

Brown looking for submissions from the bottom here. Moving his hips around, possibly looking for an armbar.
Voormann slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Brown working from the bottom, still in full guard. He's managed to get a loose triangle. Voormann doesn't seem to be doing much to defend here, obviously he feels comfortable in the position. Voormann manages to throw the legs off his shoulder and he's back into guard - no problem.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Brown can't do much from the bottom at the moment, as Voormann controls the pace.

Brown is working an open guard so Voormann takes the opportunity to get back to his feet.
Brown fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Voormann avoids it really well and circles away.

Voormann fakes a head punch and goes low to the body. Nicely done.
Brown takes a body punch but keeps moving.
Brown tries for a takedown but Voormann sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Voormann unleashes a big counter combination but Brown bobs and weaves and avoids any damage.
Both fighters are looking to counter, which isn't making for the most exciting fight in the world.

Voormann closes the distance and clinches.

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Voormann breaks the clinch.

Voormann moves into the clinch.

Voormann breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Brown has a nice red mark on his side after a thudding body kick by Voormann.

Voormann fakes an overhand right and shoots for a takedown. Brown sprawls well initially but Voormann persists and gets the takedown into half guard.

Voormann stands up from half guard... He's had enough of that ground malarky for the time being.

Voormann works over Brown with some ground and pound from guard.
Voormann has been the more effective fighter overall so far.

Brown being controlled here, momentarily.
Voormann's corner are shouting for him to control the position and he seems happy to oblige.
Let's hope that Voormann has the urge to step up the pace any second now because for the last 15 or 20 seconds he's just been holding on tight.
Claus Voormann has got the better of the ground game so far.
We're seeing a lot of stalling here from Voormann.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Claus Voormann showed his class in that round. I'd imagine he'll take it on all the scorecards.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business. So, we enter the final round. Let's see if either fighter can bring us a finish, or whether we're going to the judges scorecards.

and Voormann counters with a left and a right that stings Brown.
Brown shoots for a double leg takedown but Voormann sprawls well. He's pushed Brown's face into the mat and manages to get back to his feet relatively easily.
Claus Voormann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Brown takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.

Brown gets tackled into the cage by Voormann. Voormann maintains the clinch.
Brown tries to pull guard but Voormann holds him up against the cage and eventually Brown drops back down to his feet.

Voormann connects with a superb combination that knocks Brown out cold! The referee charges across the mat and tackles Voormann before he can land any more shots to the unconscious Brown!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:27 of round 3, we have a winner by way of KO (Punches). Claus Voormann!
Our winner, Claus Voormann, made sure he spent some time buttering up the crowd during his post fight interview, which will no doubt bring him a few more fans.
