PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Eliseo Duncan (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Fred Flinston (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Fred Flinston acknowledges the crowd's support as he enters the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Eliseo Duncan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Fred Flinston!
The judges for this bout are Nard Betker, Wagner Zegers and Paul Aken.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Duncan displaying good standup as he scores with a three punch combination.
Fred Flinston seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Flinston is looking to clinch.

Duncan instigates a clinch.
Flinston looks to throw an elbow but misses.
Duncan is looking for a takedown.

Flinston is working on a single leg takedown against the cage. Duncan can't fight it off and eventually Flinston manages to take the fight to the floor. Duncan looks annoyed but at least he's managed to land in guard.

Duncan manages to escape and get back to his feet.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Flinston gets the takedown into side control.
Duncan really does look like a pencil wearing a pair of gloves. Let's hope he has a gameplan to suit that ridiculous body shape.
Flinston wants to lay and pray for a moment but Duncan keeps working.
A lull in the action here as Flinston stalls from top position.
Flinston tries to score with some ground and pound. Duncan controls his posture well this time though and the shots don't do any damage.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flinston tries to move to mount but Duncan blocks the move with his legs.
Flinston postures up a little and throws a couple of hammerfists but they don't connect properly.
Duncan is not content to let Flinston control the position.
Duncan manages to get one leg in to regain half guard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
My god... these two guys really need to pick up the pace or everyone will leave to go get a beer.
Flinston trying to control from half guard but Duncan is working away.
Flinston with a momentary lay and pray from half guard.
Duncan regains full guard. Nicely done.
There's a bit of a scramble here and now Duncan is on top in guard.

Duncan content to stall in guard here.
Flinston is looking to get back to his feet but can't, whilst Duncan is controlling him.
Duncan will need to keep those long limbs tucked in whilst he's on the ground, to prevent any submissions.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Flinston trying to control the position.

Duncan gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.
Flinston misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
Duncan keeps the fight on the outside.

Flinston shoots in and gets a takedown into half guard. Flinston showed some decent athleticism there.
Duncan makes his way to full guard. A much better position for Duncan.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
Duncan bucks up whilst keeping hold of a body lock, managing to reverse the position. Now he's in top in Flinston's guard.


Duncan gets to his feet - Flinston follows without any prompting.

Flinston gets tackled into the cage by Duncan. Duncan maintains the clinch.

Duncan gets control of Flinston's arms and successfully pulls guard. Duncan will no doubt be looking for submissions off his back.

Flinston decides to stand up and beckons his opponent to follow.

Duncan gets caught flat footed, as Flinston shoots in with a quick takedown into guard.
We've seen a great period of action over the last minute or so - credit to both fighters for going all out!

Flinston got a little sloppy there for a moment and Duncan has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Flinston has managed to get both his arms back between Duncan's legs - danger averted.
Flinston really doesn't want to stay on the ground with Duncan. If he can't get it back to his feet, it's only a matter of time before he'll be tapping out.
Duncan pulls Flinston in to control the position.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Eliseo Duncan dominated that round.
Well, the break between rounds is over. Let's get back to the scrappin!



Duncan has taken the fight to the clinch.
Flinston wants to break the clinch but can't.

Duncan jumps guard.
Flinston trying to control the position from guard on top but Duncan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duncan is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Flinston can do to turn this around?
Flinston throwing strikes from guard but Duncan blocks nicely.

Duncan is edging up against the cage. He's using the cage to get back to his feet. Nice work there - the fighters are clinched.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Duncan successfully pulls guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Flinston wanted to stand there but Duncan had control of the position.
Duncan is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Flinston missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.
Flinston trying to control the position from guard on top but Duncan is wriggling around, looking for whatever he can.
Duncan is looking to stand back up... there's a bit of a scramble and Flinston dives into side control.
Flinston is trying to ground and pound but Duncan uses the momentary lack of control by Flinston to regain half guard.
Duncan wants to get back to his feet.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Flinston is taking a breather. Duncan says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Flinston is continuing to stall.

Duncan looking for submissions from an awkward position here.
Duncan is looking to regain full guard. Not this time though.

Flinston throws a strike but Duncan manages to get a kimura sweep and he's found himself on top with the kimura half locked in! This would be a real turnaround! He's torquing it... Will Flinston tap??? YES! He's tapped! This one is all over!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:56 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Eliseo Duncan!
