Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Gary Hayes (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Drunken Skunk (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hayes comes to the cage accompanied by DMX - We In Here. Drunken Skunk is the more experienced fighter, so let's see if that makes a difference tonight.

Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

The judges for this bout are Gwen Towbar, Robert Twigg and Daniel Franklin.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Hayes has a takedown stuffed.
Hayes tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Skunk swivels and escapes.

The two fighters exchange a few words. I couldn't hear what they were saying but maybe it's more fun if you make it up yourself. Skunk connects with a nice short shot to Hayes's temple.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

Hayes gets to his feet and steps away from his opponent.

and Skunk counters with a nice double leg into side control. Hayes won't be happy with that.
Hayes is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Skunk is controlling him well.
Skunk cracks Hayes with a big right hand but Hayes just smiles back at him and invites him to have another go.

The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!

Skunk postures up and cracks his opponent a couple of times before moving back into close ground control. Hayes looks a forlorn figure.
The crowd are going absolutely nuts as the round comes to an end - what a fantastic round of action!

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action.

Skunk closes the distance and clinches up with Hayes, looking for a takedown. Skunk pushes Hayes against the cage but Hayes circles to the side and manages to break the clinch.
