Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Jerrell Jimenez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and John Perez (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, Jerrell Jimenez!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Sydney, John Perez!
The judges for this bout are Ben Watson, Bruno Hogan and Darius Henderson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Some wild striking there from Perez.

Perez has taken the fight to the clinch.

Perez turns his hips and lands a very nice judo throw into side control!
Jimenez tries to buck Perez off but Perez is having none of it.
Perez lands an elbow.
Jimenez is trying to control Perez's posture but Perez avoids it.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Perez remains in side control and seems content to stay there. It's a versatile position from which he can work both strikes and submissions, whilst maintaining that control, so maybe he'll sit here for a while.

Perez swings around for an armbar but Jimenez sees it coming a mile off and turns beautifully into Perez's guard.

Jimenez wants to work for an arm triangle but Perez is really keeping half guard well and defending the submission attempt.
Jimenez thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Perez's head.

Jimenez throws a big elbow that misses.

Perez is looking for a triangle but Jimenez pushes his legs off easily.

Perez wants to hit a switch here but Jimenez passes into full mount! Oh no, disaster for Perez there!

Perez wants to control but Jimenez is having none of it.

Perez is in all sorts of trouble here.
Jimenez tucks in and makes sure he doesn't lose the dominant position.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
You get the feeling that Perez really doesn't like being in this position too much.
Jimenez trying to control but Perez is having none of it.
Jimenez knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Perez on the ground.
Jimenez avoids the attempt from Perez to control.
Jimenez prevents Perez from getting the reversal.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Perez wants to control but Jimenez is having none of it.
Perez is desperately trying to get back to half guard.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jerrell Jimenez dominated that round.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Jimenez throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Jimenez displays good takedown defense there as he swats away a double leg from Perez.
Jimenez takes a step back and watches a body kick go sailing past his mid section.
Perez tries for a takedown but Jimenez circles away easily
and Jimenez counters with a two punch combo.
Perez shoots in looking for a double leg takedown. Jimenez defends it nicely.
Jerrell Jimenez has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of John Perez.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.

Jimenez clinches up with Perez and pushes him back against the cage.

Perez controlling the action here for a moment.
Perez misses with a shot to the kidneys.
Jimenez is really dominating this fight. Is there anything that Perez can do to turn this around?

Perez manages to pull guard. Let's see whether he can land a sub off his back.

Well. There's a bit of a lull in the action here and the crowd are starting to get restless.

Perez has managed to work for a loose triangle. I think Jimenez should be able to defend this one pretty easily though. Oh, Perez has tightened it up now! Jimenez should have reacted faster there - he's in big trouble and yes, he's tapped out! This one is all over!
