PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Bruce Cody (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Lipton Jackson (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chooooooooon! I think Cody might be my favorite fighter, now he's come out to Can't be Touched. The crowd giving both fighters a great reception on their way into the arena. That's good to see.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 2 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 6 - 5 - 0, fighting out of London, Lipton Jackson!
The judges for this bout are James Atkins, Daniel Bishop and Andrew Berry.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Jackson tries to close the distance and clinch but Cody swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.

Cody is trying to control but can't.
Jackson wants to stand but Cody has hold of a leg and an arm, so he's trapped for now.

Jackson wants to get up but he can't break Cody's closed guard. He needs to be careful trying to break the legs open, as he's open to submissions here.

Jackson might have to switch it up a bit here because his efforts to control Cody kaven't been going to plan, at least at the current moment in time.

Jackson feints with a shoulder and throws a nice leg kick to Cody's calf.

The step up in weight doesn't seem to be a problem for Jackson. He's performing admirably here against the bigger man.

The fighters are trapped in the ropes so we're going to have a reposition here. The ref calls for a break and repositions the fighters in the center of the ring.

Cody has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Jackson can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.

Cody had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Jackson is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Cody Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Jackson's back instead.

Cody has his hand under the chin of his opponent looking for the choke. He's nearly got it! This one could be all over! But no, Jackson has freed his hand and lives to survive another… well, another couple of seconds at least!

Jackson is tying to control. Cody wants to improve his position but can't escape this time.

Lipton Jackson comfortably won the final round on my scorecard.
Well Jackson has outworked and out performed his opponent in all aspects of the game today. He was simply too good and the decision should be no more than a formality. Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
