Coming up we have a welterweight MMA rules bout between Koni Minichi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rob Kaman (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Koni Minichi has the edge in experience - let's see if he can make that count tonight.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 4 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Koni Minichi!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Hilo, Rob Kaman!
The judges for this bout are Robert Twigg, Cecil Peabody and Chris Downing.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Kaman tries to clinch there but Minichi circles away.
Minichi throws a head kick that misses and slips in the process. He scrambles back to his feet and the fighters circle.
As Minichi backs off Kaman throws a huge counter combo but Minichi manages to avoid it all.
Minichi has his takedown stuffed
and Kaman counters with a two punch combo.
Kaman avoids the body shot from Minichi.
Despite the aggression on Kaman's face he doesn't fully commit to the counter.
Kaman wants to clinch up but Minichi keeps it at a distance.
Kaman throws a combination but comes up with nothing but fresh air.
Minichi seemed to be looking to counter by closing the distance.
Minichi shoots in looking for a takedown. Kaman tries to sprawl out of it but Minichi keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Kaman manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Kaman will need to tighten up his combinations if he doesn't want to gas himself out, swinging at thin air.
Kaman fails in his attempt to clinch.
Minichi tries to counter with a takedown but Kaman is quick to defend against it.

That's one minute gone in the round.

The fight moves into the clinch position.
With the two fighters working up against the cage, Kaman just misses with a elbow thrown towards Minichi's brow.
Minichi keeps control of Kaman as he tries to wriggle out of the double underhooks.
Minichi dodges an elbow strike from Kaman.
Kaman throws an elbow but it's blocked.

Minichi has managed to pull guard. Let's see whether he can work an aggressive guard. It will also be interesting to see what tactics Kaman uses from the top position.

Minichi is looking to cinch up a triangle. Kaman throws the leg off to one side though and gets in tight to Minichi's body to avoid the submission. Minichi has instead reached around Kaman's neck and now has a guillotine! Oh, this is biiiig trouble! Minichi arches his back and squeezes and forces the tap from his hapless opponent.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:49 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Koni Minichi!
