Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the featherweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of London, Robbie Rose!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Sam Campobello!
The judges for this bout are Albert Achterberg, Daniel Blasius and Patrick Alders.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Rose slips under a jab from Campobello.
Rose darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Rose thumps the canvas. Not on purpose obviously - he just missed Campobello's head.
Campobello is pressing down on Rose's left leg trying to get back to full guard. He's managed it.
Rose stands up and looks to throw the legs aside to pass to side control. Campobello swivels though and keeps the full guard.
Campobello keeping moving, preventing Rose from controlling successfully.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Rose content to sit in guard, stalling... Great. Oh but he could get punished here because Campobello has locked up a guillotine! Campobello's face is contorted as he sqeezes tight on the submission attempt - will he finish? Rose is holding on here and Campobello must be using up a lot of energy. Rose has gone limp! He's out! He's out cold! Campobello gets to his feet, tossing aside his stricken foe. Arms raised, he milks the applause from the crowd. Great submission!
Ladies and gentlemen, after 0:56 of round 1, we have a winner by way of Submission (Guillotine). Sam Campobello!
