Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Raphael Fields (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Tim Hendricks (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Hendricks has chosen D12 Fight Music as his entrance music. Tim Hendricks looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 1 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Tim Hendricks!
The judges for this bout are Frank Antenori, Don Winkell and Timothy Bukovac.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Fields shoots in with a lovely double leg takedown. Hendricks manages to land in full guard to minimise the damage.
Fields missing there with some ground and pound from the guard.

Fields drops back for a leg but he's not going to get it - he lets go and Hendricks dives on top into guard.

Hendricks got a little sloppy there for a moment and Fields has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Hendricks has managed to get both his arms back between Fields's legs - danger averted.

Fields is looking to sinch up a guillotine here but Hendricks pulls his head out easily.
Fields has been looking to land a fair amount of strikes on the ground. He might be looking to soften his opponent up in order to work for a submission.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Fields is trying is best to control the position here.

The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Hendricks wants to lay and pray for a moment but Fields keeps working.
Fields is trying to control Hendricks's posture but Hendricks avoids it.
If this pace continues, the referee will definitely step in and force a standup.
Fields is looking to reverse the position.
You can see the frustration on Fields's face, being in this tough position on the bottom.

The referee has decided to stand the fighters back up, so we'll restart on the feet.
Hendricks shoots in for a double leg but Fields sprawls well. That's going to sap some energy.

Fields changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Hendricks looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Fields is looking to finish here, going for an Americana. Hendricks knows the correct defense though, so he's OK.

Fields thinks about going for a far side armbar but bails out and retains the dominant position instead.

Hendricks is looking to work his way out of this bad position but Fields is controlling him well.

The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

There's not a lot going on here and the crowd are letting the fighters know they're not willing to tolerate a lack of action.
Hendricks gets one leg under and gets the fight to half guard.
Raphael Fields overall seems to be getting the better of the ground position in the fight so far.
Fields seems to be taking a bit of a break to think of his next move. He lands a short punch in the meantime.

Hendricks tries to regain full guard. Instead though, Fields has advanced to mount. Uh oh.

Fields is thinking about an arm triangle here, looking to tighten it up before moving to side control. Hendricks can see it coming though and defends well with a couple of strikes to the head and some good arm positioning.

Fields is in full mount, looking to secure a guillotine but Hendricks is surviving well by controlling Fields's body position as best he can.

Hendricks changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Fields tries to avoid it but Hendricks manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Fields to the ground. Fields escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.

Raphael Fields has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Tim Hendricks.
Fields tries to clinch but Hendricks is having none of it.

Hendricks throws a jab to the body, straight down the pipe. Boom. That sent Fields stumbling backwards but he manages to regain his composure quickly.

Neither fighter has done anything of merit for a good minute or two here and the crowd are not happy about it.

A few boos can be heard. I'm sure they will multiply if the fighters don't pick up the pace.
Fields is nestled in close to Hendricks, controlling him well. He's worked in a nice elbow to the side of the head as well, for good measure.
Fields lands a big shot. The thud that echoes around the arena is like music to the fans' ears.

Fields is working for a submission here. He's got hold of the far side arm and he's looking for a kimura. He's cranking on the arm and he's got it! Hendricks is tapping out! Ouch, that looked like it hurt!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 4:34 of round 3, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Raphael Fields!
