PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a middleweight MMA rules bout between Ze Patanisca (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Jonathan Jovi (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Jovi is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Bad Medicine. Over to our ring announcer for the fighter introductions!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the middleweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 1 - 0, fighting out of London, Jonathan Jovi!
The judges for this bout are Phil Schofield, William Gold and Paul Tew.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Patanisca tries for a takedown but Jovi sees it coming a mile off and avoids it easily.
Patanisca shoots in for a takedown - he's clinched up with Jovi but Jovi pushes him off and we're back to square one.
Jovi lands with a nice body punch.
Jovi swats away the attempt to clinch by Patanisca.
Patanisca ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
Patanisca closes the distance and takes a jab right on the nose as he does so.

enabling Patanisca to counter with a crisp jab.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jovi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.
Patanisca is breathing heavily.
Jovi stuffs the takedown.
That's three failed takedown attempts in the round for Ze Patanisca. That's going to take a lot out of him.
Jovi throws a hook to the body but it doesn't connect.
Jovi throws a hook to the side of Patanisca's head but Patanisca sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Patanisca drops his hands and takes a jab to the jaw for his troubles.
Jovi swings away but doesn't land with a series of punches.

Jovi misses with a series of wild punches.
Patanisca moves out of range of the strikes.
Patanisca ducks under a wild hook from Jovi.
Jovi loads up on a big right hand but Patanisca slips the punch.
Jovi looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Patanisca takes a solid shot to the body. That one hurt him but he's trying not to show it.
Patanisca moves away from the strike by Jovi.
Jovi throws a low kick but Patanisca moves out of range easily.
Patanisca bobs and weaves well there to avoid the strikes.
Jovi misses with a wild body shot.
Jovi scores with a decent looking hook.
Patanisca walks into a left hand.
Jovi dips down and scores with a jab to the body.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jovi loads up on a big right hand but Patanisca slips the punch.
Patanisca appears to be looking for a counter punch to the body.

Jovi lands a big uppercut and Patanisca crumbles to the floor! The ref thinks about stopping the fight but Patanisca looks OK. Jovi waves Patanisca back to his feet!

Patanisca is rocked!

It looks like Ze Patanisca has been cut.
The fans in attendance giving it up for the two fighters, who have really let it all hang out in the last minute or so!
Jovi drops Patanisca with a straight right hand, right on the button! Jovi follows him down to the mat and pounds him out with hammerfists until the referee jumps in to end the fight!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 2:15 of round 1, we have a winner by way of TKO (Strikes). Jonathan Jovi!
Jonathan Jovi spent the whole post fight interview bigging himself up. It didn't go down that well with the fans after a while as they thought it was a bit arrogant.
