Coming up we have a heavyweight MMA rules bout between Jason Tate (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Rocco Jones (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Jason Tate!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Las Vegas, Rocco Jones!
The judges for this bout are George Francis, Gwen Towbar and Tiny Johnson.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tate misses with a few strikes there.
Tate scores with a jab to the jaw of his opponent.
Tate sizes up Jones with a pawing jab and scores with a straight right down the middle.


It looks like Rocco Jones has been cut.
Tate misses with a wild combination.
Tate pushing out the jab but it's not landing.
Tate could do with loosing a few pounds - he looks very soft around the mid section, to put it politely.
Tate cracks Jones with an uppercut from hell and Jones crumples to the canvas, he's out! Oh no, he's recovered and he's grabbed one of Tate's legs and pulled him into guard. The ref thought about stopping it there but he's let it go - good reffing!


Jones is rocked!
This has been an exciting period of action!

Jones has an omoplata and is looking to use it perhaps as a submission or perhaps to transition. Tate is in a bit of discomfort here, but he's managed to free himself and has dived into side control! That didn't work out too well for Jones.
Tate knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Jones on the ground.

Tate decides to stand up, so the ref orders Jones to his feet.
Some wild striking there from Jones.
Jones moves out of range as Tate strikes.
Jones moves away from the strike by Tate.
Tate misses with a looping right.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
Tate throws a right hand that Jones ducks under and follows up with a left that Jones also avoids with ease.
Tate throws out a loose jab but Jones uses good head movement to avoid it.
Tate moves in looking to clinch but Jones pushes him off.
Jason Tate is looking to keep the fight on the feet at all costs.
Tate swings wildly with a hook that is half blocked by Jones.
A slow jab from Tate misses its intended target.
Jones avoids a punch combination nicely.
A punch combination from Tate misses.
Tate is breathing heavily.

Jones changes levels and drives through with a really nice takedown into side control. Tate looks really pissed at himself for not defending that better.

Jones goes for an armbar here - this could be all over! But no, Tate has escaped beautifully and is now on top in side control! Oh, that's unlucky for Jones but great work by Tate.
Jones tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Tate wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Jones manages to land a sweep and he's now on top! Lovely Jiu Jitsu!

Jones is working for submissions here but there's nothing on.
Jones thows a wild elbow that connects with the canvas.
Tate is trying to stand up here but Jones is controlling him well.
Jones has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Jones is trying to work for a kimura but Tate is defending well.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Jones is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Tate is just riding it out for now. Jones eventually gives up the hold.

Jones is working for a submission of some sort.

Jones seems to be looking for submissions.
Both fighters really going for it on the ground here!

That's three minutes gone in the round.

Jones seems to be working for a kimura but Tate defends the submission attempt.

Well, the referee has seen enough. Neither fighter is active enough on the ground so he's stood them back up.
Tate misses with a jab, cross combination.
Jones wants to clinch.
Tate throws out a token jab with nothing on it.
Jones throws a body kick that misses.

That's four minutes gone in the round.
The crowd are showing their displeasure at the lack of action as loud boos ring out around the arena.
Tate is the aggressor but that punch slipped nicely by Jones.
Jones swings wildly with a couple of big hooks
and Tate counters with a one-two to the body.
A punch combination from Tate misses.
Tate checks the leg kick nicely there.
Jones looks to land a body kick but Tate moved away.
Jones throws a feint and then finishes with a kick to the body.
Tate uses some good footwork to avoid the body shot by Jones.
Jones fakes with a right hand and throws a good leg kick, right into the thigh. That had to hurt Tate.
A big left from Tate misses.
Tate is really head hunting here, hardly looking to strike to the body at all.
As the round comes to an end the crowd are showing their appreciation for a great round of action.

Jones looking for a takedown here - he's got it.
Jones stands and throws Tate's legs to the side, diving into side control.
And that’s the end of the round – the fighters go back to their corners.

Jason Tate dominated that round.
The cut man is working on Rocco Jones's cut.
The referee calls time. The cornermen exit stage left and we're back to business.


Tate throws a shot from downtown. Jones moves away and avoids it.
Tate rushes forward with a series of wild hooks but Jones moves out of range and avoids them all easily.
Jason Tate is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Tate misses with a hook.
A swing and a miss from Tate.
Tate throws a one two combo.
Tate looks to land a right hand but Jones moved out of range.
Jones shoots in looking for a takedown. Tate tries to sprawl out of it but Jones keeps driving through. The fighters are pinned against the cage. Tate manages to get underhooks and after a bit of a struggle, circles away and we're back to standing.
Tate fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Both fighters are absolutely exhausted here.
Tate keeps the fight standing with a nice sprawl.
Jones goes for a spinning back kick but it misses.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Jones looks for a takedown. He's got it. We're now in half guard.
Tate wants to get back to his feet.
Tate is looking to get back to is feet but Jones passes into side control.

Jones looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.

Jones has worked his way into a potential kimura here. Tate is trying to get out of the position but his squirming has just got him deeper into trouble. Jones yanks on the arm and Tate is forced to tap due to a very painful looking submission! Nice work by Jones.

Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:52 of round 2, we have a winner by way of Submission (Kimura). Rocco Jones!
