The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A swing and a miss from Dietrich.
We've been informed that Gainsborough has been sparring a lot of Muay Thai in the buildup to this fight so let's see if that has an impact on the result.

Dietrich gets tackled into the cage by Gainsborough. Gainsborough maintains the clinch.
Gainsborough misses with a punch on the inside.
Gainsborough prevents a body shot from Dietrich.
An uppercut on the inside fails to land for Dietrich.
Dietrich missing with knees to the body.

Gainsborough is defending well against a takedown attempt.

Dietrich's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Dietrich attempts a leg kick but it's missed by a good margin.
Gainsborough connects with a lovely jab that went straight through the gap between Dietrich's hands.
Hans Dietrich seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Dietrich throws a head kick but Gainsborough moves out of range.
Gainsborough throws out a counter right but Dietrich avoids it with no problem.

Gainsborough closes the distance and presses his opponent up against the cage.
Still in the clinch, Dietrich scores with a nice short uppercut.

Gainsborough's corner calls for him to break the clinch, which he does.
Wow, both these guys are really going for it!
Good exchange - Gainsborough coming out on top.
Dietrich swings and misses with a shot to the body
and Gainsborough counters with a series of strikes. Dietrich will be more careful next time no doubt.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!

Oooooh!!! Gainsborough has knocked Dietrich down with a huge combo! Gainsborough steps away and waves a wobbly Dietrich back to his feet! This one might not go much longer!

We've been told by Dietrich's head coaches at 5 Star Spar Bazaar that he's been working on his takedown defense in preparation for this fight.
Gainsborough throws a leg kick which misses Dietrich's front leg but catches the back leg as Dietrich tries to avoid it.
Dietrich doesn't manage to clinch there - Gainsborough circles away.
Gainsborough connects with a nice cross there... Dietrich is looking wobbly and Gainsborough recognises it - he's rushed in and lands two more brutal shots that send Dietrich to the canvas, out cold! A brutal finish to the fight - Gainsborough jumps onto the cage to celebrate with the crowd!
