Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Deck Chair (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Claus Voormann (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Voormann is bouncing up and down as he enters the arena, backed by Beastie Boys-Sabotage. Claus Voormann looks lathargic as he enters the arena. Wake up son, you're about to have a fight!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Deck Chair!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 3 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Amsterdam, Claus Voormann!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Blasius, Wagner Zegers and Saam Ante.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Chair throws a body shot but no joy.
Voormann tries to close the distance and clinch up against the cage but Chair paws at him with a jab and circles away.
Voormann shoots and misses

and Chair counters with a nice double leg into guard.
Chair looking to pass the guard.
Chair trying to control but Voormann is working from the bottom.
Chair controls from within his opponent's guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chair is looking to work some ground and pound but Voormann has wrist control.

Voormann working for a triangle but Chair defends it easily.

Voormann preventing the ground and pound from doing any damage.

Voormann escapes his hips to the side and looks to be working for an armbar. Chair gives him a little smile and shakes his head. No chance.

Chair drops back, looking for a kneebar! Voormann looks panicked! The fighters roll across the mat, one looking to finish, one looking to escape. Voormann looks to have wriggled free... Yes, he's got his leg free and he's dived into side control! Good work there from Voormann!

Chair is looking to regain half guard here but Voormann keeps moving and retains side control.
Chair on his back here. We all know that wrestlers don't like being on their back so let's see if Chair tries to get out of the position.
Chair can't do much from the bottom here.
Voormann wants to stand but Chair has his arm trapped.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chair is looking to reverse the position.
Chair is working hard here to advance position.
Chair defending against the ground and pound.

Voormann tries for an arm triangle. That looks pretty tight to me. Is this one over!?! Possibly, maybe, no Voormann has let go of the choke. Obviously it wasn't as tight as we thought!

Chair dodges the ground and pound from Voormann.
Chair manages to work his way to half guard, despite Voormann's best efforts.

Voormann prevents Chair from improving his position.

Chair is avoiding any damage by keeping wrist control.
Voormann in full guard, throwing the ground and pound. No damage this time.
Chair wants to sweep here but Voormann controlling him for the moment.
Chair controls Voormann momentarily but Voormann frees himself.
Voormann passes into half guard.
Chair is positioning himself well to prevent Voormann advancing to mount.
Chair knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Voormann on the ground.
Chair slips a foot under and gets full guard. Nice work.

Chair wants to sweep but no luck.
We've been informed that Voormann has been working hard on his conditioning in the buildup to the fight.
Chair might be looking to lock onto one of his opponent's long limbs for a submission, whilst we're on the ground.
Chair has a butterfly guard looking to sweep but Voormann has passed into side control.
Chair is trying to get back to half guard.
Boooooooooooooooooooo!!! God, this has been a terrible round. Come on you two, sort yourselves out!
Voormann is putting a hurting on Chair here, landing some big shots from side control.
Chair is positioning himself to get back to half guard.

A close round but Claus Voormann will probably get the nod.
OK. That's time! The bell goes and we're back to the action.


Chair keeps the fight on the outside.
Voormann tries to clinch but Chair moves out of range.
Chair looks to land a left hand but Voormann moved out of range nicely.
Voormann misses with a double jab.
The fight stays on the outside here - Voormann looks like he's thinking about clinching though.
Claus Voormann seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.

Voormann is a painfully thin specimen of a man. You do wonder whether a good body kick would snap him clean in two.

Chair drops down and drives through with a powerful takedown into guard.

Chair content to strike from guard, landing some decent shots.

Chair controls the pace of the fight for a moment.
Chair wants to control from the top but Voormann keeps moving.
Chair lands a couple of decent looking shots.

Chair got a little sloppy there for a moment and Voormann has worked his way into a loose triangle - can he finish it?! No, Chair has managed to get both his arms back between Voormann's legs - danger averted.
Voormann is breathing heavily.
Chair looking to sit in guard and control but Voormann gets the butterfly guard and sweeps. He's now in the guard on the top.

Chair wants to sweep but no luck.
Chair wants to control here, rather than go for any submissions from the bottom. At least for now.
Chair avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.

Voormann is holding a leg here, probably looking for an ankle lock - he drops back and goes for it! Chair is in trouble! Is it all over??? No! Chair has escaped and now he's on top!

Chair keeps in close for a moment and lands a decent shot to the side of Voormann's head.

Voormann has a loose triangle. He'll be looking to tighten that up but Chair can see exactly what he's planning and manages to posture up and free himself.
Chair slows down the pace of the fight for a moment. He'll need to remain active if he doesn't want to see the fight stood back up.

Chair tries to free his leg and advance position but Voormann is retaining full guard.

Chair is working the ground and pound from guard. He might want to try advancing position though to get more of an impact.

That's the end of the interval. I'm sure that seemed a lot quicker than a minute for our two fighters! Back to the action. This is the final round!


Chair throws a monster uppercut resembling something out of street fighter but it doesn't land.
Claus Voormann is looking to throw some combinations by the looks of things.
Voormann tries to clinch up.
Voormann takes a jab right on the kisser.
Voormann throws a decent looking leg kick but it doesn't land clean.
Chair feinted with a counter takedown.
Chair throws a shot from downtown. Voormann moves away and avoids it.
A head kick misses from Voormann.
Chair looks to throw the jab but Voormann is out of range.

Chair throws a loose over hand right and dives in with a double leg takedown. Voormann tries to sprawl but it's too late and the fighters hit the mat. Chair is in Voormann's guard.
Chair advances to half guard.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Chair drops an elbow to the side of Voormann's head.
Chair is taking a breather. Voormann says something to him but it's hard to make out. Perhaps he's telling him to get on with it and actually do something.
Voormann takes a big intake of breath there - he's definitely tired.
Chair seems very keen to just sit and control from half guard but Voormann does not like that idea so much and is remaining active off his back.

Voormann has hold of Chair's hands but Chair slips his arm to the side and lands an elbow.
Voormann wants to get back to full guard.
Chair is keeping good posture, landing some ground and pound.
Chair is scoring with some nice ground and pound from the dominant position.
Chair wants to take a breather but Voormann is having none of it.
The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.
Chair drops an elbow to the side of Voormann's head.
Chair is figuring out what he wants to do next.
Chair looks to score some points with some ground and pound.


Voormann is rocked!

Chair sitting and controlling from the half guard.
Chair looks towards his corner to check for any instructions. The corner give him nothing to work with, so he cracks Voormann with a short hammerfist. I guess that's as good as any advice he could get in this position.

Voormann makes some distance and scrambles quickly back to his feet. Nice work!

Voormann lands with a thumping leg kick.
Voormann fakes high and shoots in for a takedown but Chair avoids it really well and circles away.
Voormann pulls out of a head kick attempt.
Chair half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Chair misses with a body shot. Nice footwork from Voormann.
Voormann fails with a takedown attempt.
Chair tries to score a power double leg takedown but Voormann sees that one coming and sprawls well. That will dishearten Chair somewhat.

Voormann walks into a left hand.
Voormann shoots in but no luck this time.
Deck Chair has stuffed three takedown attempts in the round now. That's going to take a lot out of Claus Voormann.
Chair throws a body shot but no joy.
Chair throws the left hand but Voormann avoids the punch easily.
Chair scores with a nice strike.
Chair throws a jab but it's blocked by Voormann.
Chair tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Voormann was well out of range. Poor timing from Chair.
As Chair backs off Voormann throws a huge counter combo but Chair manages to avoid it all.
The crowd thankful this round is nearly over.
Voormann looks to land a combination but Chair avoids it well.
Chair lands a lovely overhand right.
Chair ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Voormann moves away.

And that's the end of the fight!
Deck Chair showed his dominance in that final round.
Well Chair has outscored his opponent in every aspect of the fight today. Only a scarily incompetent judge or two will keep him from a well deserved win... Over to the ring announcer for the scorecards.
