Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the welterweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 5 - 3 - 0, fighting out of Tokyo, Rob Callard!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 23 - 14 - 2, fighting out of New York, Unai Arana!
The judges for this bout are Daniel Franklin, Frank Dennis and Alan Glass.




The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Arana takes one to the side of the head.
Arana scores with a shot to the body.
Callard tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.
Callard has been working on his boxing with his coaches at Lock and Roll Grappling Gym in the buildup to the fight.
Arana tries to score with a leg kick but it misses it's target.
Callard fakes high and swings low for a body shot but Arana manages to avoid it.
Callard loads up on a big right hand but Arana slips the punch.
Arana throws a head kick that misses.
Callard throws an ugly left hook that misses
and Arana counters with a slapping leg kick.
Callard looking to land some kicks to the body here.
Arana misses with a half-hearted attempt at a head kick.
The crowd cheers as Arana lands an impressive looking overhand right. Callard doesn't seem phased though.
Arana checks the leg kick.
A looping hook to the body misses from Callard. Arana does a little dance to reset his feet.
A combination from Callard does no damage.
Callard throws a big shot that misses.
Arana was about to counter that last move with a leg kick but changes his mind.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Callard lands a jab, followed by a cross and another cross, as Arana backs up against the cage.
Callard lands a really nice looking cross but Arana seems unphased.
Arana misses with a head kick.
Callard half commits to a counter takedown before pushing away, out of range.
Arana cracks Callard with a right hand to the side of the head.
Arana misses the jab.
Arana tests Callard's chin there with a solid looking shot.
Callard lands a nice shot that snaps Arana's head back.
Callard throws a hook to the side of Arana's head but Arana sees it coming and ducks under it beautifully.
Callard lands a nice looking body kick.
Callard connects with a right hand. Arana shakes it off.
This is a great period of action - very entertaining stuff!
Callard lunges in with an uppercut that skims his opponent's chin.
Callard tries to land with a swinging hook to the body but Arana was well out of range. Poor timing from Callard.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Callard misses with a two punch combination.
Arana swings and misses with a hook to the body.
Callard is using his height advantage well here, landing a good percentage of his punches.
Callard ducks down and throws a hook to the body but Arana moves away.
Arana throws out a counter right but Callard avoids it with no problem.
Arana gets his head snapped back by a nice shot there.
Arana ducks under an overhand right and circles away with a smile on his face.
An inside leg kick lands from Arana.
Callard throws a head kick that misses.
Arana lands a beauty of a right hand that gets the crowd cheering.
Arana looks to land a left hand but Callard moved out of range nicely.
A decent looking cross lands there for Callard.
Callard moves out of range of the body kick.
Callard connects with a jab.
Rob Callard seems to be the more aggressive standup fighter in this bout.
Callard throws a body shot but no joy.
Arana only half commits to the counter leg kick.

That's three minutes gone in the round.
Callard bobbing and weaving, closes the distance and lands a hook to the side of Arana's head.
Callard keeps Arana at a distance using the push kick.
A punch lands to the side of Arana 's head but he takes it in his stride.


Arana is rocked!
Callard thuds his right hand into Arana's forehead from close range. That could be painful for both fighters.
Arana is still on wobbly legs! Can Callard finish him?
Arana glances at the clock... BAM! Callard nails him with a big right hand! A momentary lapse in concentration sends Arana crashing to the mat! The referee steps in and this one is over! Damn, Arana is out of it, he thinks the ref is his opponent!

Ladies and gentlemen, after 3:25 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). Rob Callard!
