PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Bleddyn James (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Alexei Chernokov (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Chernokov has chosen Disaster strikes - Mushroom cloud as his entrance music. We have two fighters making their debuts here, so let's see who comes out of this one with their first professional victory.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
James connects with a solid leg kick.

Chernokov tries to check a leg kick but that clearly hurt him.

Chernokov closes the distance and gets a double leg, slamming James to the mat! James manages to get full guard.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.

Chernokov is going oldschool here, as he tries to force James to tap using a forearm choke. This isn't 1993 though, so James shrugs it off.
The crowd are loving this. Great action here.

Chernokov looks like he's working for a submission but he's not found anything just yet.

Chernokov unloads with some shots from mount but James bucks and avoids them well.
James tries to reverse the position but Chernokov maintains control.

Chernokov has hold of James's left arm, perhaps looking for a submission. The two fighters tussle over control of the isolated limb and James manages to get his arm back to his side and away from danger.
Chernokov wants to control the pace but James is squirming around nicely.

The ref warns both fighters not to hold the cage as they work up against the meshing.

James reaches up to try and pull Chernokov in and control his posture, but Chernokov latches on to an arm and pivots quickly for an armbar! James taps out and this one is all over!
