PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a featherweight MMA rules bout between Stephen Barett (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Point Dexter (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Barett kept the crowd waiting but all that was forgotten when his ring entrance music started. The incomparable musical genius that is Foggy Dew. Dexter has chosen Thunderstruck as his entrance music. Both fighters will be looking to make this an exciting fight for the fans, I'm sure!

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Dexter throws a head kick that looked like it stung.
A really sloppy takedown attempt there from Barett.
Dexter stuns Barett with a nice body shot, before stepping back out of range.
Barett avoids the body shot from Dexter.
Barett shoots in for a takedown but Dexter shows good takedown defense there and keeps this one on the feet.
Dexter moves into range and throws a combination. A nice jab followed by a hook to the body.
Dexter throws the kick towards the body but Barett avoids it.
Dexter's corner calls for a 1, 2 combination and Dexter duly obliges.
Barett misses with a looping right.
Barett tries to clinch but Dexter is having none of it.
Dexter feints a counter leg kick.
Barett tries to clinch up but Dexter circles away and keeps his distance.
Barett tries to close the distance and clinch but Dexter swats him to one side with an open hand palm strike and circles away.
The crowd cheering loudly, showing their appreciation for the quality fight we're seeing here.

Dexter darts in and out, connecting with a jab.

Dexter throws a right high kick that is partially blocked by Barett.
Some wild striking there from Dexter.

Barett bobs and weaves into range and then changes levels and scores with a nice takedown into side control.
We could do with one of the fighters taking the initiative a bit more on the ground - they're both waiting to capitalize on a mistake.
Dexter is looking to regain half guard here but Barett keeps moving and retains side control.
Dexter is trying to control Barett's posture but Barett avoids it.

Barett looking for an arm triangle but it's way too loose to do anything.
Dexter defending against the ground and pound.

Dexter regains half guard.

Dexter looking for submissions off his back.

Barett is looking for a kimura but Dexter is holding onto that half guard position, so it's hard for Barett to get the leverage.
Barett knows he needs to get back to his feet asap. He's simply no match for Dexter on the ground.
Barett wants to take a breather but Dexter is having none of it.

Barett is working for a submission of some sort.

The fighters are starting to get a bit slippery now, which will make submissions a bit more difficult.
Dexter is working actively off his back, looking to secure an arm or perhaps work for a triangle.

Barett lying in Dexter's guard like a wet fish here, stalling away. Dexter decides he's had enough of all that nonsense - he escapes his hips and locks up an armbar! Wow, that was slick! Barett taps! This one is aaaaaaaaaaall over!
