Coming up we have a lightweight MMA rules bout between Samak Tiyapairat (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Van Kelly (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Tiyapairat comes to the cage accompanied by Ram Muay. Both fighters look fresh as a daisy as they make their way towards the cage.

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.

And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 21 - 13 - 0, fighting out of Los Angeles, Van Kelly!
The judges for this bout are Wesley Smith, Chris Downing and Frank Dennis.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Tiyapairat looks to score with a combo but nothing lands.
Tiyapairat misses with a looping right.

Kelly darts in and clinches Tiyapairat up against the cage.
Kelly drops to a knee looking for a takedown but Tiyapairat gets the underhooks and prevents it.

Kelly has dropped down and is working for a takedown. Tiyapairat is trying to keep an underhook but Kelly manages to get the takedown into half guard.

Kelly is sneakily working for an arm triangle but Tiyapairat sees it coming and defends easily.
Kelly throws a big elbow that misses, also allowing Tiyapairat to regain full guard.
Kelly loading up with the ground and pound but he's missing more than he's landing in this flurry.
Tiyapairat avoiding any damage from the ground and pound.
Kelly throws a strike but Tiyapairat rolls with it and manages to sweep. Now he's in guard on top.

Kelly has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.

Kelly had isolated an arm as going for a kimura. Tiyapairat defends it easily.

That's one minute gone in the round.

Kelly working away from the bottom but not quite defensive enough there because Tiyapairat has passed into half guard!

Kelly has hold of a guillotine but he's not going to be able to crank on it really with only half guard, so it's no trouble for Tiyapairat. Oh but Kelly has got full guard now! Oh boy! This one could be over very soon! Tiyapairat goes limp - he's gone! Kelly jumps up and celebrates with the crowd - fantastic submission finish!
