The bell rings for round one and we are underway!

Yun Phat darts in and lands a nice takedown into half guard.
Wilder regains full guard. Nicely done.

Wilder had isolated an arm as going for an omaplata. Yun Phat is defending the submission well but is in a very vulnerable position. Wilder Is leaning forward trying to finish the omaplata but decides to abandon it, and take Yun Phat's back instead.
You can see the frustration on Yun Phat's face… He knows he is in trouble unless he improves his position sooner rather than later.
Yun Phat rolls and manages to get back to half guard. Nicely done.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Yun Phat is looking for a sweep. Wilder is wise to his cunning plan and keeps the top position.

Wilder is trying for a guillotine from the top but the pressure isn't in the right place so Yun Phat is just riding it out for now. Wilder eventually gives up the hold.

Yun Phat is working an open guard here, looking to improve his position. No doubt that will leave him open to counters but at least he's being more offensive.

Yun Phat shoots in from a long way out. He's driving through with the takedown attempt and he eventually gets it, landing in Wilder's guard.
