Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the lightweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of
0 - 2 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, Jerrold Vaughan!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of
0 - 0 - 0, fighting out of Rio de Janeiro, The Jonatasmz!
The judges for this bout are Seu Braga, Matheus Silva and Felipe Paraventi.
The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
Vaughan tries to shoot in for a takedown. He's got hold of a leg but Jonatasmz swivels and escapes.
Vaughan changes levels and looks for a double leg takedown. Jonatasmz tries to avoid it but Vaughan manages to keep hold of a leg and drag Jonatasmz to the ground. Jonatasmz escapes though and pops straight back up to his feet.
Jonatasmz lands a head kick. Vaughan smiles back at him and beckons him forward.
It looks like Jerrold Vaughan has been cut.
Jonatasmz scores a trip takedown into side control. Nice.
Jonatasmz trying to control the action but Vaughan is working from the bottom.
Vaughan tries to work a leg under to get back to half guard but Jonatasmz wriggles his own leg back out and remains in side control.
We've had a slow start to the round here - hopefully the action picks up.
Jonatasmz happy to just control the position for now.
Jonatasmz misses with an attempted head punch from side control.
Jonatasmz has the superior BJJ but he's also working some ground strikes into his gameplan.
That's one minute gone in the round.
You can see the frustration on Vaughan's face as Jonatasmz controls the position.
The fighters are pressed up against the cage, both looking to find a bit of space to work.
Jonatasmz decides to take the fight back to the feet.
Vaughan takes a kick to the body and keeps moving.
A left and a right from Jonatasmz both land. Nice combination.
Vaughan is rocked!
Jonatasmz rushes Vaughan and pushes him back against the cage in a clinch.
Oh Vaughan is still all over the place! His legs are completely gone! Will he be able to recover?!!
Jonatasmz breaks the clinch and we're back to striking at distance.
Jonatasmz weaves into range and cracks Vaughan right on the temple with a beautiful overhand right! Vaughan goes down! He's out cold! Wow, what a beautiful knockout! Jonatasmz is strutting round the canvas like a movie star as the camera bulbs flash frantically.
Ladies and gentlemen, after 1:38 of round 1, we have a winner by way of KO (Punch). The Jonatasmz!
