PBP Commentary

Coming up we have a super heavyweight MMA rules bout between Matt Damon (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class) and Ivan Drago (ranked 0 p4p, 0 weight class). Well, the cameraman is lingering on a pretty young lady for a bit too long there. Keep your eyes on the fighters buddy or you'll miss the fighter intros!

Ladies and gentlemen. This fight is 3 rounds, in the super heavyweight division.
Introducing the fighter to my left, fighting out of the red corner.
With a record of 1 - 1 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Matt Damon!
And introducing the fighter to my right, fighting out of the blue corner.
With a record of 1 - 0 - 0, fighting out of St Petersburg, Ivan Drago!
The judges for this bout are Ivan Kurochkin, Aleksandr Martynov and Vladimir Khabensky.

The bell rings for round one and we are underway!
A left and a right from Damon both land. Nice combination.
Damon uses decent footwork to sidestep a right hand from Drago.
Damon misses with a double jab.
Damon avoids the body shot from Drago.
Drago shoots in for a takedown. "I don't think so" says Damon as he avoids it easily.

Damon moves into the clinch.
Damon tries to land a knee to the head but misses.
Damon landing knees to the body. They look like they could hurt.
Drago wants to push off and get back to the center of the mat but Damon has him pressed against the cage.
Damon throws a knee to the head but misses.
Drago is trying to stall.
Damon gets an overhook and lands an elbow to the side of the head.
Damon connects with a knee to the head.
Damon lands a nice elbow.
Drago wants to strike at distance but he can't break free of the clinch.
Drago tries to break the clinch but Damon is controlling the position.
Drago has a body lock and is looking for a takedown. Damon is bouncing around trying to prevent the takedown and somehow he has indeed managed to stay on his feet.

Drago manages to break the clinch.
Drago circles away from the clinch attempt.
Drago fails to land with the punch combination there - jab, cross, hook, miss, miss, miss.
Damon wants to clinch.

That's one minute gone in the round.
Drago takes a body kick right on the floating rib. Ouchie.
Drago looks gassed!
An inside leg kick lands from Damon.
Drago takes a punch to the jaw and another one to the bread basket.
Damon keeping a good distance there, avoiding the body shot.
Damon is looking to clinch.
Drago tries to clinch but Damon is having none of it.
Good leg kick by Drago there. It's the ones that make that thud noise that hurt and that was an almighty thud.
Damon steps to the side to avoid the strikes from Drago.
Drago misses with a straight left.
Damon ducks under a wild hook from Drago.
Drago throws an uppercut from half a mile away. Damon sees it coming and avoids it easily.
Damon circles away from the clinch attempt.
Drago throws a leg kick which misses Damon's front leg but catches the back leg as Damon tries to avoid it.
Fantastic stuff here - a very entertaining period of action, which has drawn cheers from the crowd.
Damon blocks a jab.
Damon bobs and weaves and unloads with a good uppercut.
Drago keeps the fight on the outside.

That's two minutes gone in the round.
Drago chopped to the floor by a nice leg kick but he springs right back up before Damon can pounce on him.
Drago drops Damon with a hook right on the temple. He thinks about going to the ground but Damon looks back up at him and smiles so Drago waves him back to his feet - he obviously thinks he can knock him out after that shot landed.

Damon is rocked!

It looks like Matt Damon has been cut.
Drago throws an overhand right that drops Damon like a sack of potatoes! Drago dives in to finish the fight with more strikes and this one is all over!
